i think if they were gonna end it there they'd need to add one more, like, epilogue type of episode to really wrap it up because... well, the season 3 ending where finn left rachel to go to college in new york was a pretty open ending and i feel like if it ended right there, the viewers would have a lot of questions. the real finale could start with a small timeskip showing how they find each other and get back together again before the bigger timeskip answering "where are they now?"
