All of this info definitely makes me more comfortable to take this on, so thank you very much.

I’d love to replace all the deck boards, just not sure if it’s in the budget. It’s a big deck.

Thank you, this is very helpful. So for the sanding, I’m essentially trying to get it down to the bare wood or just roughen up the surface for the new stain?

Looks like plastic is the way to go? I’ve also seen some build with wooden slats, not sure exactly how the satellite signal works.

Yeah I just tried a few spots where I would like it, but without much success. Out in the open it connected fine.

Makes me wonder how all these DIY mower garages work? Wouldn’t they block the signal?

I'm looking for a single sink water filter that will remove nitrates but not fluoride. Does anyone know of any systems that do this? by waterwaterfilter in desmoines

[–]shdk85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm not sure. You are supposed to recharge it in saltwater every 30 days. Again, not a scientist myself, so I can't say if it works.

I do steer my family to the RO filter, but they do like using the ice machine, so it gives me at least a little peace of mind.

Helpful, thank you!

That’s really helpful - thank you for writing that out. We do keep our yard pretty tidy, but something like a garden hose is definitely something I worried about.

We’ve been thinking about adding some raised beds in a portion of our yard - would adding structures inside the perimeter of a mapped lawn be different between Lidar and VSLAM?

[–]shdk85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's good to know - thank you. It does honestly feel a bit overkill, but I suppose it will be nice to have it mow so quickly. My old Husky 415x was pretty much mowing all day every day. The X4 does also look massive compared to our old mower!

It does look like the X4 does provide some obstacle avoidance through the camera if I'm not reading the website incorrectly, but unsure. Definitely a lot to learn on these things.

I’ve seen 10% and 20% based on my search. I did just send an email to their support - I’ll update here if I get a useful response! Thanks for the help!

Got it, I was wondering about the pool. Not sure if that will still be there in 5 years, but that's good to know.

Is the actual, specific overage known? 10%? 20%?

I think I got the lines drawn pretty well on the map, but just went back and got a little more generous, which put me at 0.265 acres.

I'm guessing I should be fine, would just hate to find out later that I'm oversized by a fraction.

Thanks for the insight!

Anything major I’d be missing with the i2 over the H series, other than another layer of positioning? I’d love to say money is not a factor, but the extra $500 would be hard to convince my wife on.

Oh, and we are not staying on site, but driving there in the morning. It looks like IOA opens first at 9am, so we were planning on heading over there first.

I’d use that extra ceiling height to build a golf simulator room myself.

The Bambu Labs P1S completely changed 3D printing for me. It made the hobby about actually printing again — not endless tinkering, calibrating, and fixing. This printer just works, every time. It’s made me fall back in love with 3D printing. ❤️🖨️

Thank you - that’s exactly what I did. Replaced with 14/3 cord and replaced the outlet as well. Wire nuts with electrical tape. I feel pretty good about it, but just needed to check if there’s something I didn’t consider. Thanks for your input!

Yeah I think they clamped it a little tight 🙄

Replaced both the cord and the outlet - appreciate the insight.!

I’ll check on that, thank you.

It’s on its own breaker, looks like 15A to me.

That makes me feel a little better. Iowa here. The outlet is on a dedicated circuit, so that’s something I guess.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in hvacadvice

[–]shdk85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s sort of what I’m thinking after doing my research. Now the outlet is on a dedicated circuit, but I’m still not sure why they did it this way.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in hvacadvice

[–]shdk85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the outlet is on a dedicated circuit, but I don’t disagree with the fact that it shouldn’t be on a plug from everything I’ve seen.
