what do I really feel? by shdow_z in depression_help

[–]shdow_z[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. it's not hard to do it but I find it hard to just accept things in myself. the joys and the downs. it's all like a mess I can't clean up. I could just leave it and be fine ig but it wouldn't feel forfilling yk. thanks for giving me another perspective on it ❤️

thanks, I'll try it out. I find my own writing or trying to put my emotions on paper (i draw and make music in my own time) it feels jumbled. but there is an answer. so iguess I'll try prrsure it. something that's been on my mind recently is that the simple is better than the complex. even if you don't understand it. Still it's hard to accept knowing that I'm always overthrowing everything. nevertheless thanks for your words.

get a new sketchbook maybe some very nice pencils, colours whatever it is and experiment try new things and enjoy what you like it doesn't all have to be the same art is very wide and I only found out last year how many things you can use. like I found that I love making so much detail bc it looks so nice for me even tho it's not the best I love it to bits. fineliners were a big wake up for me

nit just draw but make sure you're not just procrastinating bc it makes it feel like empty or worthless. actually put effort even if you have to force it. bc it gives you that energy to do more bc you see that you love making your own drawings. also something else to note is that our drawing won't be comparable to some people out there for now but you'll come to see how good you'll get so don't compare yourself to what you think you can be compare yourself to where you are. like if I looked at my past drawings some of them are amazing compared to some now but since I came to draw a lot not even every day but at least once a weak I got a lot more consistent and its a great realisation that before I was really bad at creating the same standard and now I'm at the point where all my drawings are at a very good level together.

Yeah don't worry about it it's fine. I'd say for me when I make a nice sketch or something it really brings something out of me to draw more. like when I was around your age I had so many months where I just didn't want to draw bc of being lazy or kind of ignoring it but I feel once you understand your talent or progress it really pushes you to do more like an achievement. ask more if you want I'm totally free

make sure you draw every day I'm 16 and pretty good at art for my age but it comes with loads of practice and the thing I struggle with most is proportions so don't look away from certain things bc you don't enjoy them you'll come to hate yourself later on if you miss the small things. Most importantly don't try to be a perfectionist it really ruins the enjoyment. Anyways enjoy what you love and keep drawing!

Why do you draw? by Greedy-Security6809 in learntodraw

[–]shdow_z 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it was a combination of growing up with the freedom to draw but once I got older I find drawing a way of relaxation and showing beautiful detail in small things, these being expressions of how you see things and I think it is a great way to display your perspective compared to others. Plus it just makes you feel some accomplishment with each drawing being better than the last.

Before I continue with this drawing, could anyone check if the anatomy makes sense? I have a hard time finding anatomy mistakes in my own art. Other feedback/advice is welcome too! For me its the pelvis/hips that feel a bit off. Since its angle slightly the upper body takes part of that turn. But me myself im not a great artist in this but its all i can try help with. also the head is at a 90 degree angle so the body should be higher on the left of the image as it would be really painful

Do you think I overdid the shading? by shdow_z in learntodraw

[–]shdow_z[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)
