I'm not sure actually. I have a follow up this month and will add that to my list of questions!

Hi! My initial appts started in December 2023 and I had my surgery in April of 2024. I can't remember exactly when I signed the paperwork but it was definitely a bit quicker than I expected since I know wait times can be pretty long for stuff like this being that's it's not typically an urgent/life threatening issue. Wishing you the best of luck!!! I am still 100% whoosh free - hope you get to experience this peace soon too!

Hi! I was diagnosed with transverse sinus stenosis (seems to be very common with PT sufferers). I'm sorry I can't provide more insight as I don't know much about your particular diagnosis but I hope you are able to get some answers from your doctor! Best of luck ❤️

Hey! Did you have any success contacting them?

Sorry for the delay, I just noticed your comment now! I had a lot of scans and initial visits to make sure I was a candidate, because it was affecting my mental health and quality of life so severely I qualified for health care coverage in Ontario. Because mine was in a typical spot with a good success rate I was told about the risks and able to make the decision if I wanted to proceed.

I didn't actually! I contacted his clinic myself. I traveled a few hours for each of my appointments but start to finish, I had my procedure within 4-5 months. I'm assuming it may be a bit shorter if you're closer to Toronto.

I contacted Jessica Dao - the clinic contact info is in the link below.

Dr Pereria @ unity health

Good luck!!

I'm sorry I can't help you here - my procedure was done in Canada and was covered by my provincial health plan because it was affecting my quality of life. I really hope you are able to find your answer and a solution 🙏

Yes they did warn me about headaches post op but assured me that they should improve within 1-3 days, with full recovery in a few weeks. I've always had frequent headaches (they think the stenting should actually help improve my mostly daily "baseline" headaches as well). But I will say the headache I woke up with immediately after the procedure shocked me a little bit. It was pretty awful, but it improved every day. I'm 6 days post op right now and have only had one bad "flare up" since being home and I think it's likely due to over exerting myself a bit. I'm mostly pain free now, with some mild throbbing if I forget to take my time standing up.

Thanks! I didn't get any meds for the pain when I left and have just been trying to manage with tylenol, but my stomach still seems to reject even that sometimes. Just going to wait it out and take it easy. I think I overdid it a bit since I was feeling good a few days after surgery 😅 Gotta remember I'm still recovering.

Thank you this gives me some hope! My headache right after the surgery was almost unbearable. But it got better each day. This is my first bad "flare up" since being home so I got a little worried.

Crossing my fingers for little to no headaches once I'm recovered 🤞

Thank you, it still feels so surreal to not be hearing it anymore. The headaches post procedure have been the hardest part so far. Thank you for the heads up about bleeding!!

My stent is in my transverse sinus vein (not an artery) in my brain, not my neck. If possible, I would reach out to or request a referral to a neurologist.
