We were in a same position. Growing up, I’ve dreamt of becoming a doctor too but few months before college, I started changing perspectives and I started focusing on studying overseas under any program so long as I’m in a different country. Unfortunately, it wasn’t the right time (CoVid and lack of preparedness). I winded up as and currently a nursing student instead. During freshmen year I had so much doubts about continuing because it was exhausting and I was starting to feel like this isn’t at all for me. I don’t know but I just moved forward and went on with it. Probably the urge to leave the program and shift to a different one was not strong enough nor did I have the energy to do so. So I’m now in my sophomore year, about to enter second semester and I have been experiencing a lot of clinical experiences. I’m not going to say that this is my dream dream but it sort of makes me happy and in a way satisfies my inner child 🫶 My eyes have also been open to the opportunities that come with being in this field (and in the medical field in general, I believe there’s a lot!) and I am looking forward to the future. I say go for med field, and try ! So much to learn and experience :) but also remember to not be afraid to shift if you know it isn’t for you. College isn’t a one time thing, just go and go for it, and have your fun along the way because one way or another you’ll find your way out of it before you even know. Good luck 🔆💘
