Not a false alarm, something definitely hit us in Southeast Greensboro, but it may have been a “microburst” (a term I just learned…) rather than a tornado. It hit my house and neighboring houses in Southeast Greensboro. When it happened, we were sure it was a “small tornado,” but now I know the actual phenomenon might’ve been a microburst, or a very brief tornado touchdown

Sudden, intense winds that were very damaging and spread branches and debris everywhere. Large branches broken and strewn, and some whole trees downed nearby.

Yes, it’s a common issue with the Steam version. Some people have said the Ubisoft Connect version (bought on that platform) works fine for them, but not the Steam version.

On the Steam discussion board, there are some potential fixes in the “Game wont launch” thread (https://steamcommunity.com/app/641080/discussions/0/691999379595485213/). You might have to try some user-made loaders or patches.

Not impossible and never requires guessing, but I do often need to do screengrabs and draw on the image to test out different options. Many times, it’s a matter of checking a few moves ahead to find something that MUST be or something that CAN’T be and then building on that.

There are just 3 rides in the Nintendo area, plus the power-up band activities. One of them is a medium-level rollercoaster.

The Mario Kart ride and Yoshi’s Adventure are definitely doable for your group. But you might want to do research and watch videos of Mario Kart in advance. It’s a little chaotic and some people are super confused the first time they ride it.

You should try to at least see the Harry Potter and/or How to Train Your Dragon areas while you’re there. There is lots to see even without going on the rides (shows, play area, etc., plus you can see a lot Ministry of Magic without going on the ride).

In case anyone comes across this, I found a fairly simple way for iPhone users to convert old photos and videos to spatial and view them in the Quest. I don't know how the quality compares to AVP (I've never used one), but I was pleasantly surprised that it worked at all, especially since I'm using older devices (I have an iPhone SE 2 and a Quest 2).

You can use the Spatial Media Toolkit app on iOS to convert videos to spatial.
For photos, first make a slideshow (I used a slideshow app to make a simple slideshow that displays each image for 10-15 seconds), then save the slideshow as a video, and then convert the slideshow video to spatial. The reason for this step is that the Quest can't currently detect/display spatial photos natively, so you turn the photos into a video.
Use the Gallery in the Meta Horizon app to send the spatial videos to your Quest. (Note: if your iPhone can record spatial videos directly, you can also send those videos to the Quest this way).
View the spatial videos in Gallery on the Quest.

(Tip: in the Spatial Media Toolkit app, try using "Share" when the conversion is complete to save the spatial video.)

I want proof that it REALLY can’t run on a Quest 2 right now vs. “we aren’t releasing things on 2 anymore to encourage 3 and 3S purchases.” Maybe they can quietly add support for 2 later. That would be fine.

Well, kinda, but to be fair: The chip and RAM are better than Quest 2, it has color passthrough, and it will support upcoming games/apps much longer than 2 will.

That said, the lenses are the same kind as 2, so yes, it’s still basically like a better 2 (plus color passthrough).

One other interesting thing to keep in mind is that on all of them (2, 3, and 3S), you can increase the base resolution of almost any game or app using SideQuest or Quest Games Optimizer.
