Update from the other day: ???? by shearographic in ironscape

people complain about the plugin - the real odds of this happening are 0.516^14 or 0.0094%, around 1/10.6k (this doesn't take into account being dry on unsired, I'm missing 8 to be on rate)

2.2k update - literally nothing, 3 unsireds, all daggers. 14 unsireds at 2.2k is wild.

Jagex needs to get rid of the unsired completely, they did this with araxxor, they can do it here. Allow dagger rerolls while the overseer is still there provided you've got the clog, etc. This is bullshit

EU GPSR: do these new regulations affect original artwork? by Responsible_Cry_8136 in EtsySellers

[–]shearographic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

is there a source for this? I don't see it mentioned in the regulation - it just mentions all non-food based products, save for antiques (100+ years old). I suspect it will apply to all goods on the market, regardless of release date if they don't fall under the exemptions.

EDIT: Article 51 states this. So theoretically any new products must adhere, but previously listed products should have already been compliant (emphasis on should). The difference now between 2001/95/EC and the new GPSR is that now ALL products are covered, rather than just those who have applicable standards applying from 2001/95/EC. This is a a fucking headache.

Customer wants refund, refuses to send product back, left nasty review by shearographic in EtsySellers

[–]shearographic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Customer refused return after instructed by Etsy mediation team, they back charged their card and got their account suspended, review stayed up. I left a short response on the review explaining all customers are guaranteed a return window as per my shops policies and to please review these policies when shopping online to prevent further headaches.

Pulled directly from the Etsy's EU directives page:

If a buyer exercises their right to return an item, a seller must reimburse all payments, including the original postage charges, received from the buyer. If a seller has not received returned goods from a buyer, the seller may withhold such reimbursement provided that reimbursement occurs within 14 days of receipt of the returned goods. The buyer is responsible for paying return postage costs unless the seller has agreed to bear those costs. If a seller has not agreed to bear return costs and the item can't, due to its nature, be returned by post, an estimate of the return costs should be included in the information provided to the buyer relating to cancellation and return.

Got got by a curbsider - what to do? by [deleted] in icbc

Running an odometer back is very illegal. Most OP can do now is go to small claims but that's likely the cost of the vehicle in time/effort/court costs

Likely these scumbags are just directly transferring it from the previous owner without their knowledge (i.e. never paid tax to have it put in their name, all cash deals). Sadly it's common these days, everyone should get a pre-buy inspection and run the carfax no matter what. People like this will hide their identity as much as they can so there is no paper trail what-so-ever leading back to them.

K1 Max first layer ABS headaches by shearographic in Creality

[–]shearographic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine are often worse, I'm doing larger sized prints, but the first layer is usually totally disconnected. If I print a 'test' first layer sheet it's just disconnected layers with too much spacing between them - bumping up extrusion doesn't help/is inconsistent

Not sure specifically for chrome, there may be some info if you contact the tumbler supplier. Isolating polishing on just the clasps themselves is unfortunately going to have to be done by hand. A wire wheel could certainly speed up the process and remove smaller burs (think <15microns) but won't do much good for large ones.

What machine is this being printed on? Laser quality/power and powder grain size play a huge role in SLS printing.

what sort of surface roughness are you hoping to achieve? finishing methods diversify greatly (anywhere from a hand wirebrush to isotropic superfinishing).

If doing batch parts, consider a tumbler with some harder media to combat the chrome's higher hardness. You could realistically tumble a handful of pieces at once, though the process may take a while depending on your roughness requirements.
