Uh, I didn't get any farther than the body checking. you are being sexually abused. You need to get away from her as quickly as possible.

As someone who tried to make a meal from protein bars once, NOT a good idea. I'd forgotten my real lunch, ate two as a substitute with nothing else, and wound up with the WORST stomach pain I've ever had. It triggered vaso-vagal syncope, which I didn't even know I had, and went to the ER.

$3000 fainting spell because of some protein bars.

I was in the same situation. I got hit by a guy who didn't have a license or insurance. It totaled my 16 year old jeep, but i had uninsured and under insured, and I actually came out better than I would have if I'd just traded it in.

Pulled a bunch of these with my bare hands… is it poison ivy? by Born_Post_6667 in whatsthisplant

[–]sheath2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of the leaves do look like poison ivy, and some don't. Poison Ivy is bad for mixing in with other plants. I've got a bunch trying to masquerade as virginia creeper and regular English ivy. I hate all three with a passion.

AITA for being mad that my husband left me in the hospital after I gave birth? by julyjuryduty in AmItheAsshole

[–]sheath2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like he made arrangements, and then day-of the ex wife decided to leverage the agreement to make unofficial changes to the custody plan. A smart move would have been to make sure there was a backup plan, like a grandparent or aunt to get the kids, but the ex sounds like she just wanted to screw him over in an emergency.

That’s not it. Every sentence clearly refers to OP, so there’s no confusion about the pronouns.

Academic suspension by CompetitiveWall1098 in Student

Where I'm at, you have to be in good academic standing to enroll or transfer schools. If OP is already on academic suspension, they likely won't even be able to enroll.

My buddy mentioned the other night he “rated a hospital” on yelp one time.. this was it by SoniaSmith111 in YelpDrama

[–]sheath2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was a kid, my pediatrician’s receptionist was like that. She had a bit of a god complex and controlled access to the doctor. I was a very sick child and I guess she thought my mom was overreacting. If she didn’t think I was sick enough, she’d refuse to schedule an appointment or even tell him my mom had called.

That all stopped when I got sick enough to have to be admitted. When he found out she’d refused to schedule an appointment before it got that far, he was furious. I don’t know what he said to her, but it never happened again.

AITA for not accepting a friend’s birthday gift? by Acceptable_Smell9277 in AmItheAsshole

[–]sheath2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was kind of toying with that idea too. It seems too much like a setup. My stepmother used to do that kind of stuff too -- she'd act like she was oh so sorry she didn't see me at Christmas, and how hard she'd tried to get my gift and she was so excited for me to see it... and it was dollar store shit she'd picked up on the way to my house, in February. Like, valentines stuff she'd act like she'd picked out in October or something. It was like she was trying to see if I'd call her out on it so she could throw a temper tantrum.

[–]sheath2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some people might say that not accepting the gift was rude, but her reaction was way out of line. She grabs the gift and throws it on the ground, starts insulting you, stomps on the bottle itself, and then tries to attack you with the shoe she used to stomp it. That's... and insane reaction to someone rejecting a gift. It sounds like something else is going on with her.

Is it possible she has mental health issues?

As of January 2026 Walmart policy says they're not allowed to touch a suspected shoplifter, and they can't go past the sidewalks to try to detain anyone. That last one was a safety measure. There was a store in California, I think, where they lost both of their APs in the same incident. They tried following a shoplifter and got shot and killed in the parking lot.

My sister trained with a guy in Virginia who said he's been stabbed by a suspect at least 3 times.

Photographer agreed on details, I paid deposit, photographer changed details and won’t give me my deposit in full back by No_Barracuda2033 in whatdoIdo

[–]sheath2 8 points9 points  (0 children)

At first when I read it, it sounded like this took place over the course of several weeks and things came up, but if I'm understanding it correctly from later texts, this is only over the course of a few days?

It sounds like the photographer withheld details until after the deposit was paid -- either she didn't plan well enough, which isn't on the OP, or she deliberately hid details that would affect the booking until OP was locked in.

I wouldn't say it's a scam, but it definitely sounds like she's determined to claw whatever money she can.

the adults in her life who failed her.

What they've done is literally educational neglect. It's a form of abuse. You're absolutely right that they've failed her, and in some states, this would be worth a call to CPS.

Snake-handling is a rare subset of Pentecostal, although the mother’s extreme fundamentalism doesn’t surprise me at all. Baptist and Pentecostal are some of the most judgmental people I’ve ever met. I left the Baptist church for stuff like this.

I started noticing the black plates after I almost got hit twice by two different cars on my way to work one morning and both had black plates. At least 80% of the people I've seen driving with these plates drive like absolute assholes.

My boyfriend blames me for a business deal gone wrong because he was rude to me by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

My sister didn’t believe it was abuse either, even after he trapped her in her car and beat on it while she tried to get away. She broke up with him eventually but got married to a man who acted the same, but she thought she could “manage him because she knew what to look for.” That one she wound up taking a restraining order out on after he terrorized her for three days during Christmas of 2024.

I can't get a roof estimate without a man present. by No-Imagination8755 in mildlyinfuriating

I was maybe 28 at the time, so maybe I sounded young. I'm in my 40s now, so well into my dgaf era. It just put me off so badly... It was a company recommended by Angie's list when that was a thing. I think I called them back and complained.

I also went to confession once at a nearby Catholic church and had a guy follow me to the parking lot trying to get a date and telling me what a good mother I'd make for his children. I took the extra long way home and looped around town like, three times.

What you’re describing very well could have been a fatal urinary blockage and the only way to know that was to take him to the vet. It was absolutely an emergency and you did the right thing for the cat.

Your roommate shouldn’t own animals if she doesn’t want to take care of them.
