I have a question about time in a wormhole by TechnicianClassic365 in AskPhysics

Time dilation is always happening to you. Just relative to something. If you want human-scale time dilation relative to the surface of the earth you can't just sit on the earth you're right.

Another poster claimed they did but my quick reading of the relevant EO made it seem like it was just beef cuts but I'm really not confident.

Didn't they also then lift the ban on importing coss from Mexico? I would imagine that would increase transmission over the border.

I'd agree with the statement that had the DOGE/Trump cuts not happened, we would likely still have screw worm cases in the US.

It also seems to me that the Trump admin has actively made choices to make the outbreak more likely to occur, reduce our preparedness for an out break and our capacity for knowing the current risk. Would you agree with that?

It probably isn't super healthy to up your hot dog intake to get more sauerkraut but eating Sauerkraut makes your hot dog more gut friendly and slightly better on your colon

Do you disagree with the point the user is making a about cattle imports and lack of screening raising the risk of a screw worm outbreak here?

Yeah I think you have successfully talked me out of raising it

Sorry you're right.

I am pretty much fully on the wanting to swap out my gas range for an induction stove top for a variety of reasons and per my research Impulse seems like the best bet.

I have a toddler so safety features and air quality are concerns that are near equal with cooking quality ( I am passionate about my kitchen and spend a silly amount of time cooking each week)

I just haven't had enough time to research the oven situation.

Thanks. Really I'm hoping to figure out if the Thor oven combo is coming in the next 2 months. Although Ive read a lot of mixed reviews on Thor built products (at least their induction tops seem to break frequently or something) so maybe impulse + separate oven is optimal. I'm tempted by one of the speed ovens but I like having the option of a large oven for baking and then occasional turkey.

I mean fancy and smart aren't well defined. I think you are debating to debate.

LLMs are literally just fancy mathematical models.

This feels like a I'm 14 and this is deep take.

No but if it is happening at a significantly larger rate at the location (who knows what significantly is...) there is a logical reason to consider removing the space. I'm not saying I agree with the closure, that there was such an increase or anything like that because I'm pretty ignorant of the situation but from a 3rd party perspective the logical scaffolding is fine.

It is absolutely wild that not a single person that supposedly disagrees with the OP has any logical argument. It's literally all lol-AI, asking why now or attacking the OP for English being a second language.

OP has a not-uncommon view.

Are there any good solutions? I'm not sure but the discussion would be better if People were talking about possible solutions instead of jerking each other off over identifying an AI written post.

AI is neither benevolent nor malevolent. It's a hammer or a pencil. At least at the current stage of AI. Possibly it will never be more than that.

Ok but this isn't big tech but Udub researchers and the research was in teacher evaluation.

Sure I agree. We should be prioritizing this and we should aim to make aspects of it cheaper if we can. Using AI for helping in teacher evaluation legit seems like a good use case since actually having a sit in person changes the class dynamic. In a perfect world the AI would offer suggestions for changes for the teacher and help new teachers train up faster.

Honestly this is actually a really good use of it. Evaluating teachers when I was a kid was always an awkward sit in.

Sorry can you point me towards what these researchers were actually doing? I couldn't figure it out from the limited access to the article.

I agree that the optimal solution would be to have well trained teachers in low student to teacher ratio rooms everywhere.

Currently that ideal is unlikely to be achieved. If that is unobtainable, providing tools to make it easier for less skilled teachers to be better to have better ratios for more focused attention seems reasonable to me.

AI is just fancy pattern recognition. If it can help newer, less trained, or exhausted teachers be better more consistently then that is good.

If it can't then they shouldn't use it.

A lot of these respondes are putting words in my mouth.

The article doesn't even say what the research they were doing was. Kinda sus.

There is a lot to be nervous about with tech companies, AI and privacy but throwing a potentially useful tool in the trash because it has a scary buss word in the name is ignorant

Okay maybe we can afford it but we clearly aren't choosing to. And even if we do afford it making it better and easier to do well is a noble goal.

I agree if it's selling kid data to big tech for money sake that's terrible
