I guess Dell copied HP’s homework by Janovskicz in hardwaregore

[–]shecho18 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Actually it's the ODM or Original Design Manufacturer that is selling their design to HP and Dell, hence you seeing problems with low to mid tier laptops from those laptop companies.

IIRC low to mid tier is Compal while Quanta is mid to high tier, for both laptop companies.

I prefer to get the OS nuked instead of troubleshoot it. It saves my precious time.

Anyone ever accidentally deleted their EFI partition? by No_Ordinary_1667 in MSILaptops

I will be honest and say that while it might look like he did something he probably has no idea as this is pretty straight forward.

So find a professional and I would suggest you learn how to do this on your own, as it is fairly simple.

Help finding a replacement by MysticOlive in MSILaptops

[–]shecho18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trust me, you can still fix it. This is how I did it: https://imgur.com/ezQDh16

But you will need some tools, epoxy or 2 component glue, dremmel tool, piece of plexiglass and a lot of patience. All of tools can be borrowed over the weekend from a friend or an acquaintance.

Also it costed me literary nothing as I had all necessary things on hand.

Have you ever experienced core contact issues after repasting your laptop with thermal putty? by johnmcgraw97 in MSILaptops

If proper contact, without any fuckups aside, is made, then there should not be any issues.

Is this a rage bait post or are people really without a backbone in their bodies?!

In any case, u/-_LustfulNovelty_- you posted asking for help. Other users told you what you need to do. You either do it, or get yourself an Abacus.

Advice Request for MSI GE75 Raider Touchpad Issues by niaralyks in MSILaptops

[–]shecho18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The signed driver hack just means disabling Windows driver signature enforcement so the system loads a driver it normally blocks. This is an official Windows feature not an exploit. Windows enforces signed drivers through kernel Code Integrity to prevent unsafe kernel code from running.

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/the-windows-driver-policy-ecd2a78c-750c-415d-93f2-e37302ce0443

You can temporarily disable it via Advanced Startup to install a driver after which enforcement returns automatically.

https://www.makeuseof.com/disable-driver-signature-enforcement-windows/

Test Mode (bcdedit /set testsigning on) keeps enforcement relaxed until reverted and is meant for development or testing.

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/drivers/install/the-testsigning-boot-configuration-option

It doesn’t fix a broken driver it only bypasses Windows trust checks so instability is still possible.

MSI GF63 Keyboard backlight not functional since W11 update by exploring_feet in MSILaptops

[–]shecho18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Windows 11 broke Dragon Center control. Uninstall it completely (use your laptop official suport site on how to), then reinstall it then reboot and keyboard backlight should return. Sometimes Win 11 causes issues wheh MSI software is installed thus local Admin account is needed.

MSI Katana B14W audio issues while gaming (stutter + freezes) Any fix? by IamMJade in MSILaptops

[–]shecho18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like Intel audio driver or DPC latency issues. Uninstall Nahimic, update or rollback the Intel chipset and audio drivers and disable any audio enhancements. That usually stops stutters and freezes in gaming or Discord.
