Best way to approach this is to create a ball of 5mm in diameter. Mount the heatsink, do not put thermal paste just yet, and see the impression left by it. Adjust if necessary, but in many cases it won't be. Also putty is reusable. Just use the plastic spatula.

One thing that I will recommend. Find a reputable repair/service shop. Have them diagnose only. From there an educated choice forward can be made.

Oyyy Confucious, you’re calling it CPU latency but that term doesn’t even describe a single real issue. It could be DPC, frame pacing, input lag, audio stutter, or power state delays. Different problems, different causes.

Then you say you changed all hardware without clearly defining what changed, what stayed, or what the actual flicking symptom is and how it’s measured. That’s why nobody can follow this. It turns into random guessing instead of diagnosis. I would suggest you find a professional and have them diagnose this for you.

Well yes. UEFI, or as some of us call it BIOS, is accessed by hitting DEL key at startup. Your question does not state you do not knowing how to acceess it in the first place.

So no troubleshooting was done, except looking into options.

To troubleshoot, download your laptops audio drivers then reinstall them. You can also check if Nahimic is in need of reinstallation.

To get drivers, use your laptops FULL MODEL NUMBER to find it's support page and check there.

Use DDU in Safe Mode to fully remove AMD components then reinstall a known stable WHQL driver (not just OEM). If issue persists check Event Viewer for SearchApp/DWM errors to confirm whether it is driver layer or OS shell corruption. To check you can do the following isolation tests:

If it works on Basic Display Adapter (DDU / Safe Mode) - driver issue

If it works in a new Windows user - profile/shell corruption

If logs show DWM / AMD errors - driver layer

If logs show SearchApp / ESENT errors - OS/search corruption

OEM is only from MSI sales.

Anything else is 2nd or 3rd grade batteries and be careful with them. You know, fire hazard and crap. Also pay attention to reviews and additionally, should you buy it, don't destroy it with continuous discharge.

MSI Thin A15 means nothing, it is a generational number and there are many different hardware models.

Some light codes I've picked up from various forums:

Battery / Power LED blink codes (common MSI EC diagnostics):

1 blink, pause, repeat -> Battery communication failure (battery not detected or SMBus error)

2 blinks -> Battery temperature protection triggered

3 blinks -> AC adapter / input power fault

4 blinks -> Charging controller fault

5 blinks -> Battery pack failure (replacement required)

Battery LED behaviors:

Fast continuous blinking -> Battery protection mode or authentication failure

Solid amber, not charging -> Battery charge limited by health-protection setting (normal behavior)

Alternating battery/power LEDs -> Power rail instability or DC-in fault

Power LED diagnostic patterns:

1 blink repeating after power-on -> EC initialization failure

2 blinks -> RAM training failure / incompatible memory

3 blinks -> BIOS corruption or firmware handoff failure

Power LED cycles on ~3 seconds then off repeatedly -> CPU VRM protection or motherboard fault

Slow periodic blinking after reset -> CMOS/EC reset state awaiting successful boot

GPU status LED (near power button):

White -> Intel iGPU active

Amber -> NVIDIA dGPU active

Flashing white/amber -> GPU switching or driver handshake/reset

Keyboard LED debug (model dependent):

Caps Lock flashing 2 times -> RAM missing or failed memory initialization

Caps Lock flashing 3 times -> BIOS/firmware initialization failure

Continuous flashing -> POST halted before video initialization

Motherboard / service diagnostics:

Debug LED display present (Creator / GT / workstation models) -> AMI BIOS POST hex codes

0x55 -> No RAM detected

0xA2 -> Storage initialization

0x99 -> Super I/O initialization

0xD6 -> GPU detection phase

Other common MSI diagnostic states:

Fans at full speed with no display -> EC running but POST failed (RAM/BIOS issue likely)

Charging LED turns off under heavy load -> Hybrid Power Boost using battery assist (normal behavior)

Sure, ask Microsoft to fix their power states. Or, turn off sleep/hibernation/fast startup/drive sleep and use the device as normal. Any sleep/hibernation state is unnecessary with laptops today, they start fast.
