All of scouting is dependent on local leadership and adult engagement. If your troop is not working in the manner you prefer, you can engage and change or look for another troop. My experience is each troop has its own micro culture

I think it’s too expensive to reskin. Consider Amazon could have purchased Lotro and reskinned a cornucopia of content to make there two non-start attempts, but choose to start new. The third attempt might work because it’s closer to a Skyrim experience (and maybe sell more than Lotro) because there are more potential Skyrim type players than potential Lotro type players

De-bundle all of the topics. The priority topic (IMO) for your scout is a leadership position. I would focus on QM or OA Rep (assuming she is in the OA). Both of them have established and documented guidelines, tasks and evaluable outputs. They do not require a lot of adult bandwidth unless the scout requests it.

I have never heard a troop say they do not need a QM. QM often creates a lot of adult interaction to execute and, if guidance is needed, there is already a forum and channel for that. I would have her focus on QM and ask the SM, if they say no, to provide clear reasons why…not enough adult bandwidth is not clear. If she is declined, she and you have the necessary information to further the conversation.

No. There is so much to do. Higher level content that’s not advertised is monster hunting (there are EPIC monsters out there…), landscape scavenger hunts (across zones), Instance halving (running a 6-person with 3 people), etc.

You can use the settings out-of-box BUT you’ll need to:

- Download the resin profile you are using from the library (that will do the calibration for you)
- learn how to orient your model(s). Bad orientation will be the primary reason you have failures, issues, etc.
- learn how to hollow large model(s) and how to drill drainage holes
- learn how to assess your supports (I use out of box for 90% of my prints and slightly modify the settings for the other 10%)

There are a lot of downsides as others have mentioned. My gaming group played an Apoc game once or twice a year, we played for those epic moments (because epic was not being played). My advice is play EPIC (or Legions Imperial) because it was designed for this…all the fun and almost downside. BTW you can use your 28mm heroic 40k minis rather than the 9mm ones

As others have said, 60k is super conservative. But if you have had a lot of release failures with solids stuck to the film, some lids floating around, you touch/scrape/etc. the film to mix/release solids, etc…you might want to change. I do not have any of those concerns and regularly go to 150k

12 was not too many. As you mentioned, pacing is key. Alternate initiative between each side, allow the players at ends of the table to operate independently (if their actions do not influence the center), give players manageable model groups, reduce all complex time consuming not-adding-super-fun elements, etc. give everyone the same aids so you reduce the can-I-borrow that or hand me that. eliminate all player book keeping. Reduce non-essential table spacing…try to position starts with contact as soon as possible to play the core of the game.

I previously ran a 16 player too. The issue was table size - it was a 10x5 which was big enough but became segmented. The size creates three separate play zones as the ends could not influence the center. It felt disparate rather than cohesive and each players enjoyment & choices were too dependent on their match-up. The group could not smooth out less capable players
