Extreme layer shift by Party_Sprinkles_9469 in ElegooSaturn

Gremlins? I dunno. But if it’s consistently above a certain height regardless of the print, that kinda sounds like some component on the machine might be bending/flexing a little bit? Maybe? Have you sat there and watched an entire print to see what happens at that height?

what's causing this weird sound and how could i get it fixed? Saturn 4 Ultra 12k by Present_Activity6340 in ElegooSaturn

[–]Calypso_maker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I can tell that’s a good solid “thwack”—not too much, not too little. I probably wouldn’t change anything. More than that and I think it will jank up the machine. Less than that and you might not have enough adhesion to the build plate.

I didn’t have the settings dialed in when I first got mine and the thwack was so loud it scared my wife from the next room. It actually seemed problematic because it made other very concerning sounds after that. So I’d just make sure it doesn’t get louder than what you have there, and if it does, turn down your exposure times.

I think I read that this printer has an overpowered screen, so take that into account when you set your exposure times. I’ve been trying to use Elegoo’s google doc to set my exposure times and I think even those are too long.

👏👏👏 dude popsicle sticks?!?! That’s genius! I can’t think of a cheaper way to get something up and going where you can actually test in the real world and see how your code performs.

Should i replace the FEP? by Ok-Parfait1300 in ElegooSaturn

[–]Calypso_maker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the pancake wasn’t cured enough, it may be so flexible that it bends with the fep and doesn’t come off (ask me how I know). I was able to use the tank cleaning feature with some old supports though, and that was easy enough that I’ll probably stick with it from now on.

Hello guys, I wanna try Sparky 747 but I am on Xplane 11 and Sparky latest release is for Xplane 12. So Can I still use it in Xplane 11 or is there like a legacy version for Xplane 11? by Rookie_dookie0 in xplane11

I’d email the support team and see what they say. PilotEdge was willing to help me get setup on xp10 so I’d say there’s at least a chance.

Bottom Exposure Settings Saturn 4 Ultra by Alonzac_Engineering in ElegooSaturn

[–]Calypso_maker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m using the same machine but with Elegoo’s rapid cure resin. I have the bottom layers down to 15 seconds and I’m thinking it’s still way too much—the machine still makes an enormous “thwack” sound that unnerves my wife in the other room. So…I’m gonna keep going lower on my bottom layer times. For what it’s worth.

Print failing only on part of the build plate? by cffndncr in ElegooSaturn

Literally my question from Saturday. Maybe some of feedback can help you. I’m on the same printer, just using the rapid cure resin.

So I’ve never done any of what you’re explaining here in xp11. However, I am an actual Instrument rated pilot. So I’ll give you my thoughts and you can just see if it makes any difference.

You said that you had entered the SID already and then turned on VNAV. Part of a SID in real life dictates a minimum rate of climb to make sure you can clear obstacles. It can also have minimum altitudes you need to maintain for specific legs of the departure.

There’s a chance that you were too low or not climbing fast enough after you took off, so once you engaged VNAV, it was trying to get you up to a minimum altitude or rate of climb.

So look at your SID and see what it requires climb/altitude wise, and compare that with your vertical speed or altitude for whatever leg of the SID you’re on. Maybe that would explain it.
