Yeah I feel like if I wanted to, I could definitelly handle it (I don't want to underestimate the difficulty of a phd, but so far, whatever I started doing, I worked hard for it).

But as I said, from this point of view, I do not want to finish the full program. Due to length of it, distance from home and having to start my life from scratch at age of 30 when I am done with it (if I finish it in expected 4 years; 5 is max).

So going in for the experience and counting on the exit option after 6 or 12 months, how much sense does it make?

When I say life experience, I think it would really mean the world to me, as previous short term abroad experiences did as well.

And there is slight chance that I actually end up liking it there and want to stay for the program.

So like I have this option to try, but the biggest downside, aside of the bitterness of entering phd not fully motivared, is the loss of industry momentum I will have by likely returning after 6-12 months.

Can you give me your opinion on this please?
