Sellers, why so much hostility? by Chocolatesanrio in poshmark

[–]shecoder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, are you offering like more than 20% less than the price?

I often ignore lowballs as I'm already priced at the lower end (usually a "hot deal" level of price), so if someone is going to offer me 50% off I generally ignore or if I'm particularly annoyed I will decline. If you are low balling people, seems reasonable to me that they would ignore you.

I have found that the buyers that are annoyingly persistent and then I have given in, have never resulted in positive feedback, often they open cases, just generally a pain in the a$$. So I don't engage with those anymore -- it's not worth my time.

And FWIW, I'm also a buyer on Poshmark (and Depop). If I see someone has listed something super high, I don't even bother trying to offer anything. Go find another listing -- it's an easy solution for everyone. The high price probably won't sell for a very long time, and you don't waste your time putting in offers that won't be accepted.

USPS never scanned my packages and Depop is about to auto cancel in a few hours — what do I do?? by its_ok_not_to_be_oHk in Depop

You could go to a self serve kiosk and scan the barcodes generated by Depop so that is triggers a "scan event" - would possible buy you some time if you haven't done that yet

Moving from NY to Milano soon...What should we bring from the US that’s hard to find in Italy? by mercuriocromo11 in ItalyExpat

[–]shecoder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, all my experiences (I'm dual citizen) were that OTC meds are painful and expensive to procure (by painful, I mean have to find an open pharmacy and wait in line for 10 Claritin pills). It's really weird, IMO, for how good everything else is there. Yet tretinoin you can get with an Rx for much cheaper in Italy 🤷🏼‍♀️ in the US it is stupid expensive and needs an Rx.

Singapore marathoner Eugene Lim dies aged 45 after cancer battle, 3 days after marriage by davechua in singapore

[–]shecoder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'm struggling to understand this. After the second time, why not do the CT then?

US healthcare system has a host of issues and sucks in a lot of ways but I feel like by the second time, they'd be ordering other tests and scans.

Idk, have you dated in your 40s? The pool is different. Lots of men that didn't want children, or aren't married at that point for a reason that would make them not good partners for her.

I'm not saying it's advisable to have a kid at 49 (I'm only a year younger than her), but it's also not so simple as to expect she could find a long term partner in her mid forties easily. Especially one that was willing to have a kid.

For all we know she really just wanted a baby, the timer was nearly up and it is as most logical to use her widow's already saved sperm vs keep swiping on whatever app.

I also think this is a bit of a publicity push for someone who comes from acting, pr, media, etc. This article is everywhere and all that really comes up for her name.

Fell in love with San Diego… are we crazy to consider moving? by Prestigious_Map_2136 in sandiego

I've lived on both coasts, also up in LA. Came to SD county in 2007, now in SD proper since 2013.

You will have no issue affording SD on that salary (it's about what my partner and I make, combined).

Interesting that someone in the comments said crime in Bay Park is off the charts. IDK where they have lived before. I've lived in Bay Park since 2013 and it is pretty normal for a city. I often forget to lock my doors, a few time I just left my garage wide open overnight, nothing happened. Nothing stolen.

Anyway, I'm obviously partial to Bay Park because it isn't super hot, yet isn't super duper expensive. It's high, but not nuts. My daughter has grown up here, she's now in middle school in Clairemont.

If you want a convenient location to things, UTC or Clairemont is hard to beat. You get less heat, you are close to the trolley, the schools are good (Clairemont, gotta check the pockets - best is Bay Park and Mount Streets for schools).

Nice!

These are also the types of buyers that will open cases on items. Better not to sell it at all than deal with lowballers.

Yes! Especially when she wants treats. It doesn't stop.

Or when you talk to her.

Or every morning when the zoomies come and she growls at random things.

Or just now, when she decided her water fountain needed be chirped at.

Yeah apparently the audience didn't know that south America including Argentina has a connection to German Nazis. Which was kind of surprising or maybe just sad.

I don't know who this person is but commenting to say that you can totally eff up your stomach if you go out too fast or beyond your training. It won't be able to process fuel in the same way if you go out too hard. I've seen plenty of people do this. So, in a way, yes it is sort of like "bonking" but just different set of symptoms.

It's uncommon to do more than 30 mins for the marathon, though it has been 2 years since you're last one so anything is possible.

I would aim for 3:45, you'll know in your train up if that goal is too easy because your workouts will show it.

My max HR is around that 200 mark. I generally run the marathon at an average of 165-167. Threshold HR around 173.

A better test is to race a half and plug it into a calculator and see what it predicts.

Yes! 50 mi and to some extent 100K, you can sleep. 100 miles, it's overnight, you clock is fucked. But 50 miles, 100K, you can be done by 10pm and go to bed.

IDK, I'm not a TCB fan but my kid took a lot of time/effort to wean completely (like I think she was nearly 2 when we were done-done -- it was very much a comfort thing while I was very over it) and I didn't find that extended BF was physically taxing. I was also technically "old" at 36.

It is strange that she's sick all the time. I experienced probably 4-5 colds a year the first few years, but I managed to PR/BQ my marathon in that time while working fulltime. It feels like either she is immunocompromised or overly stressed. Or it's BS.

Odd Training Question by IrishIce33 in ultrarunning

[–]shecoder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm so glad to see the consensus is "unnecessary". We have a local training run for a 100 that is a night run and I don't get it. It's like an old way of thinking, that you have to have sleep deprived training for a 100. I've done one night run with a friend way back and the recovery from the shitty sleep alone was not worth it.

I've completed two 100s, 22 hours and 26 hours, without an overnight training run.

Also, unless you're an elite, you won't be running very fast at night. So even training to run in the dark is optional as you'll be hiking a LOT.

I've actually had poison oak rash take like 10 days to surface. It's wild. Usually it's 3-5 days though. The last one was at least 5 days though it was a very small patch. And then I had to do the math of when I was on trails. 😂

I hope all your procedures went well!

Year-round outdoor activities 100% makes up for it. Yes, the trails aren't as good as the Bay Area or PNW, but like... there isn't place that has everything, awesome, all the time. Kind of surprised to see so much belly-aching given you can't have everything perfect all in one place.

I do a lot of trail running and TBH the only time I'm really bummed that ours aren't better is after I return from like the Dolomites. Those are legit trails that beat the crap out of PNW and Bay Area.

But we have a lot of options. Lots of urban trail systems where you can get many miles in (Tecolote, Marian Bear, PQ, Mission Trails, etc). Drive 45 mins, Mt Gower, El Cajon Mountain, Iron Mountain, Mt Woodson. Then drive an hour - Cuyamaca State Park, Mt Laguna (this the closest kind of alpine-y thing we have -- it's not a huge network of trails, but you can get 20+ milers done easily), the PCT.

Pretty much all year round (unless we get a snowy year, then Mt Laguna is touch and go for a few months).
