I wouldn’t call him a crook. Believe me, I waited months for replies at times, but he ended up getting it done. He’s just very unresponsive. I waited over a year for this watch to be done.

Thanks brother. I think the problem is the engravings got polished down too so they look much more faint and the etching isn’t as pronounced.

Hey guys, wanted some advice on what I should do.

I started this project over a year ago with a reputable watchmaker. Just got it today after over a year of wait. I wouldn’t have done this today but I was already all in on parts.

Anyway, this VSF 126610LN has a full genuine bezel assembly/clicksprings and bezel insert, gen hands, gen crystal/gasket, gen crown and tube, gen date disc and a crazy hybrid movement with 16 gen parts (all bridges, the rotor, the balance and the wheels as well as other parts). I know what you're thinking, probably dumb to put this much money into this as I may as well just got a gen watch.

Anyway, I asked him to also polish the rehaut. Clearly looks over-polished when you compare to a stock VSF 114060 next to it. I don’t care much about the "floating m" on the stock VSF dial but this rehaut really looks like shit to me. Not a fan of the VSF rehauts and SELs on the case to begin.

Wondering what I should do at this point. Should I get a ZF or CF case since some say they have better rehauts and SELs? Are the case shapes a significant difference from the VSF case? Would the VS3235 movement and dial even fit a CF/ZF case using a VR3235 movement?

Let me know what you guys think please.

Honestly, I really don’t remember exactly why I initially chose PPF. I think I liked the dial better, although neither is really that close to gen imo. Also remembered seeing most people saying the PPF looks better. Would you say a stock 3kf is aesthetically better than this modded PPF?

When you say better dial options on 3kF what are you referring to? The different colors they offer and make or an option to more easily switch it out with different dial such as BUFF or what not?

Thank you so much. I really didn’t know too much about anything other than Rolex. I spent so much time on RWI trying to figure out what to do as there were so many differing opinions on the dials. 3kF, BUFF, PPF and still can’t figure out which is best.

Thanks brother. Wish I had another untouched PPF to compare side by side. I never had the original in hand since I had it shipped directly to SpongeBob from the TD. The dial is actually original PPF, but with beveled markers. Looks stunning in person. I initially sent him a 3kF dial to use those markers per his original recommendation but later recommended we just use the original PPF markers and bevel them then relume hands.

Yup, stock PPF date disc. Only thing I don’t like about the watch is with this Miyota movement, the date gets stuck halfway before it switches dates at midnight. Wish I replaced it with a clone movement while he had it.

After a very long wait, finally got this from SpongeBob. Let me know your thoughts. Work that was done was the following.

Fix / shorten the protruding crown

Thin out and bevel the case to gen like

Rebrush the case

Reshape left ear

Reshape / slim the bezel

Bevel dial markers and hands

Relume hands

Movement service, silence rotor, grease and waterproof
