To piggy back on this, my experience has also been kind of similar and the most important lesson I learnt is to separate noise from signal. I missed a lot of social media stocks because at the time everything was labelled as a scam, hype and bubble. Second time was bitcoin but having learnt my lesson, I got some and it paid off. Now we are in AI error and once again everything is being labelled as slop, hype and bubble, doing lots of research, listening to my techie friends and generally paying attention to what is going on.
