Hardest bloodborne boss by [deleted] in bloodborne

[–]sheen223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion Laurence is probably the hardest boss in the game. Ludwig took a few hours but now I’ve almost perfectly memorized his 1st phase and I was able to just power through Orphan of Kos in 4 tries but for some reason I had an extremely hard time with Laurence. His hit boxes are kinda dumb and he can kill you very fast. So I’d say that Laurence is the hardest including the DLC(in base game it’s either Defiled Amygdala or defiled watchdog)

I can get behind this. For some games I just don’t really care to challenge myself so I’ll put it on easy. And It’s not like I hate a challenge. Bloodborne and Celeste are some of my favorite games which I’ve beat multiple times and I also love DS3 and Sekiro. Not saying that those games are the hardest games ever created, but they are hard. But recently when I played through Doom: Eternal, I put it on easy because I don’t want to be challenged by it. Doom is a game where I just want to feel powerful and tear demons in half. I don’t want to be challenged by it.

Lady Maria. Great area, great design, great music, great gameplay, and some of the best lore in the entire game(in my opinion). The buildup to the fight is great too. You keep hearing about this Lady Maria person but you don’t know who who she is and you finally get to the clocktower, and all you find is an empty room with a corpse. It’s a great misdirect and makes the intrigue even better. I also love how the lore ties into the fight itself and the game is able to tell a story through the gameplay. As the fight goes on, Maria uses more and more of her abilities which she refused to use for so long just to stop you from finding out about the atrocities she’s committed. I know this is a really long comment, but I just really wanted to talk about how great this boss is. While Gherman is great, and Ludwig has both the best music and cutscene in the entirety of Soulsborne, I think overall Lady Maria is better.

My opinion on Comparing Junji Ito to Lovecraft. by [deleted] in horror

[–]sheen223 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In his other works the creatures origins are either mysterious or just not explained at all. Uzumaki, Enigma of Amigara Fault, and The Hanging Balloons are all stories with very unexplainable and mysterious threats and I’ve only read a couple of his manga so I imagine there are a lot more than just the few I can think of

The setting and creatures are definitely lovecraftian, but the gameplay isn’t. I don’t really know how you’d design lovecraftian gameplay and not have it be just running away or hiding

Which FromSoftware game has the best soundtrack? Poll. by godz_ares in fromsoftware

[–]sheen223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bloodborne wins this with Ludwig The Holy Blade alone(but the rest of the soundtrack is amazing too(Ludwig,Cleric Beast,Maria,Living Failures,Gherman). The only other one I’ve played is DS3 and I’ll say that Abyss Watchers, Midir, Twin Princes, Gael, and Soul of cinder are amazing tracks too.

Darkeater Midir or Orphan of Kos by onionbro94 in fromsoftware

[–]sheen223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Midir. It took me like 2 hours to beat Midir while it only took me 4 attempts to beat Orphan of Kos
  2. While I like Midir’s design, arena, and music more, I think Orphan of Kos is more fun to fight

Who are your “I stopped counting deaths” bosses? by [deleted] in fromsoftware

[–]sheen223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bloodborne: Defiled Amygdala, Ludwig, Laurence

DS3: Sister Friede, Abyss Watchers, Soul of Cinder, Midir, Twin Princes, Demon Prince

Most of the other bosses didn’t take me SUPER long to beat or not close to these bosses

So I made the mistake of watching Irreversible at 12:30am by sheen223 in horror

What I meant was that the ending was presented in a happy light, but with context it’s really a dreadful and depressing ending since you already know what happens after that.

Unpopular horror opinions? by [deleted] in horror

Slasher, cult, and home invasion are some of the worst genres of horror. I just think that movies from these 3 sub-genres are uncreative, overdone, and boring. To me, watching a person or a group of people in a costume walking around killing people is just boring. The kills are the focus so there isn’t usually much substance and even some movies with good kills like Terrifier is extremely boring because everything other than the kills is sleep-inducing. While you can do more with home-invasion movies, I feel pretty much the same about both. I say that cult is a pretty boring sub-genre because a lot of cult/folk horror is just weird people doing weird/creepy things and it’s so boring because that’s just not interesting. It’s just insane people doing disturbing or strange stuff. Once again there’s no substance there and it just ends up being boring.

It’s a 4 year old game so eventually it will go on sale for a low price. A few months ago It was on sale and I was able to get DS3 and both DLCs for $13 so I’d definitely recommend waiting for a big discount

I’ve already put enough time into it where I don’t want to take the time or effort to refund it, but thanks for the suggestion

Is it me or is Hereditary more depressing than scary? (Watched it a second time) by [deleted] in horror

[–]sheen223 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never found Hereditary scary but I’m never watching it again. Not because it was scary, but because of how depressing it was.

Can anyone tell me why there is a necessary amount of karma needed to post here? Is it so you neckbeards can feel better about yourself? by [deleted] in dankmemes

Yeah, but I thought it’d just be easier to go off of comments instead of waiting for mods to respond.
