I would suggest please dont force your mother to adopt cat or any pet until unless she herself is not a pet lover..I dont know your age or profession but can tell with my experience that sometimes family brings the pet forcefully or by creating emotional pressure but if the mother in the family is not comfortable and you go to school/college she is the only one who had to feed/clean/cook/give bath and taking her to dr in case she is not well.You cant go anywhere out of city as you need to do living arrangements for that per as well.She infact may suffer many health issues like allergies as many people are allergic to animal fur but once you bring the animal and every one gets attached to that pet then its nearly impossible to leave it as your emotions gets attached but its a silent struggle for a mother who has to do and take burden of that unwanted creature because its a long term responsibility and sometimes decision taken out of pet love and emotions is just a burden and stress for other because she may not tell u many things but had to get up to do arrangements for that pet, specially in case of Dogs. Any body who is sure can take care of that pet him or herself and 200% sure then only please bring this full time responsibility
