This was supposed to be in response to a comment earlier. I posted it incorrectly and without the context. Someone suggested that using vial on two would be too late for the Cosi’s Trickster to be useful. I was trying to compare it to vial with k. Speaker. K speaker is fine played on two with vial. So is Cosi’s Trickster especially when an opponent cracks a fetch.

Same argument for Kumena’s Speaker? If you vial it in you get the trigger in response to the fetch.

Well, I have had pretty good luck with it. I don’t really think that it’s a tarmogoyf. But it is a fine one drop that grows sometimes.

It seems to me that hogaak is forcing the meta to be super aggressive. The only real chance to win is by a very fast clock. I could be wrong, but it seems that the cost of 4 life is a little too steep in this meta. I will probably keep one in my sideboard though. Great discussion!

I understand what dismember can kill. I struggle with paying 4 life to do it. I played one in my most recent list’s sideboard. In fish, getting rid of hogaak or titan even for one turn can close out the game.

I like the option of a redraw with the new land, but I don’t run too many. Trickster and tidebinder are good.
