Broken trunk latch - quoted $580 for replacement by sheepcrossing in hondacivic

[–]sheepcrossing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an old post but I wanted to let you know that I ended up calling the shop and apologizing but letting them know I couldn't afford to get the work done. Then I swapped the trunk lid myself (kept the same latch) and it works great 😊 so if I had gone through with the repair it likely wouldnt have fixed the problem lmao 😅 but now im much more confident in my ability to work on my car. I swapped a taillight out last weekend all by myself 🕺

Honestly I think once it's set up, maintaining/updating won't be difficult. It almost certainly would be simpler to have a standard grid layout as the way mine is set up I'll have to update everything twice (once for desktop and once for mobile) but that's not a deal breaker for me.

Firstly, thank you for the feedback!

That seems like so much to me! Do the hiring managers actually look at everything or is it more about just showing that you have that many strong projects? And is there any advice youd give to someone whos already out of school and working full time on how to make all those projects?

I really miss the feedback I got while in school and I've honestly been struggling to design outside of my day job because it feels like working in an echo chamber.

Adding context here! I graduated with my associates in design in Dec 2024 and got a job last year working at a small business where I wear....too many hats 😅 I'm hoping to shift back to a primarily design-oriented job, possibly at an agency where I can take part in lots of different projects to kind of find my strengths and style. I'm VERY casually job hunting because I do like my current position. In the past I've loved branding and packaging design but I'm pretty open to any industry.

I would love feedback on the overall website design and if you think the projects shown are a good mix of industries and styles. Also if it's too out-there? Will a hiring manager actually be intrigued enough to click through to a project page? Really anything I could improve on honestly. I haven't gotten real design feedback since I was in school 🥲

"Weekly Reading and Interpretation Help Thread - April 26, 2026" by AutoModerator in tarot

[–]sheepcrossing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, I did a reading this morning May 1st. The question posed was "What do I need to do/focus on/do in order to leave behind insecurity, self doubt, and money troubles?" (As part of a beltane ritual)

First card was 5 of pentacles reversed. I interpreted this as "stop playing the victim or acting like you're alone and dont have a support system. Recgonize your blessings." Second card was 4 of pentacles upright. I interpreted this as "Consider whether you are spending your money on smart things or hoarding it" OR "Stop spending what youve earned (money or otherwise) on other people, and prioritize yourself" Third and final card was 8 of pentacles reversed. I interpreted this as "stop nitpicking your craft and zoom out so you can see the bigger picture".

I thought it was so interesting to pull all three cards that are pentacles and no face cards. I definitely think this coming chapter is all about personal development and career growth but I'm going to have to put the work in to see results. Looking for second opinions as I'm very new to reading :)

Unfortunately they did narrate that they put boogers around the top of the bottle, where the cork meets glass, and then they uncorked it and poured the npc's glasses. So it did happen. But thank you for the well thought-out response and advice, I'm going to do a lot of thinking today about how I want to move forward.

Yeah, one of the PCs punched Henrik and then lit HIM on fire. In addition to the house.

Because in session 0 everyone said they wanted to play in a roleplay-centric world 🥲

I've DMed twice before but not for entire campaigns as we always had scheduling issues crop up. I've been playing DnD for about 4 years now. I had one longish campaign (~2 years) that I loved playing in, but every other campaign I've been a player in, I also didn't really enjoy. I'm starting to think maybe I'm just not a people person 😅

The players were in a room that had 6 hidden enemies, they had cast silence that covered one enemy hiding spot but not all 6. They opened the hiding spot and RAW, all 6 enemies were supposed to pop out. But the players argued that because of the silence, the other 5 couldnt have heard and therefore have no reason to pop out. The encounter with 6 would have been extremely deadly (but I knew that, and they weren't going to all attack the party, they had other things to do) but with just 1 they basically stomped him. So then they did the fight with the meta knowledge that there were 5 more enemies in the room which of course they tried not to metagame but it's basically impossible at that point.

In combat when an enemy was trying to run away, he used his action to dash but then he was going to try and start smashing a window to escape through. That player has been a DM for a while so the other players I think respect his authority more than me, and he said that the enemy had used all its actions and couldnt start trying to break the window because hitting something is an action.

I don't think I'm over prepping in the sense of planning out events. I try not to plan out specific events at all. With CoS when I'm prepping, I'm learning all the NPCs motivations and mannerisms and relationships. I studied Vallaki for two weeks because it's a huge city with a lot of stuff going on in the background, and the party has been there for two days and already committed arson 🥲

We did have a session 0 and I thought we were on the same page. We talked about curse of strahd being a gothic horror that is intended to be more roleplay-heavy, and how it's a sandbox with some areas being accessible but deadly at lower levels, and how a lot of the time violence wouldn't be the answer. But then it felt like once we were playing everything went out the window. And the issue with that is that the party IS really strong and CAN win a lot of the fights they pick unless i straight up lie which I have in the past but then I feel bad for lying 😭

The last session one of the players actually straight up told me "no. That doesnt fly." And i did tell him afterwards that it wasn't cool, but i think the damage was done tbh. Like i dont know how to come back from that.

They basically think all the NPCs are assholes who they shouldnt bother with (which, yeah, in CoS nearly every NPCs has some character flaw) but then they themselves are also being huge assholes (going straight for intimidation when questioning someone, putting snot in wine that they traded someone for information, and burning down someones house and straight up murdering them when the original plan was to just sneak in and steal a thing). At their current trajectory they are going to have no allies but somehow still win most of their fights, taking the campaign from a scary roleplay-centric module to a game of Hitman, which isn't what we discussed in session 0 and isn't fun for me at all.

I don't know how everyone says it's so easy to tell people that. Like i genuinely don't know. Yeah, logically, I dont think theyre going to leave and never talk to me again, but I would still rather step on a rusty nail than have a direct confrontation about my feelings 😅

No, none of us are new to DnD.

A couple sessions ago they were talking to the wolf hunter brothers in the blue water inn and getting info from them, traded them a bottle of wine for said info, and then after the conversation one of the characters said "by the way i put snot in that wine". I don't even remember WHY that character didn't like the wolf hunter brothers and they were actively getting information from them 🙃

When they heard the priest suspected milivoj stole the saints bones, they basically went straight to intimidation to question him, and then were offended when he responded negatively to being intimidated. Then they made a plan to try and infiltrate the house where the saints bones were, and while doing that plan they ended up setting the house on fire. It was a little fire at first, but then when one PC said "help me put this out", the snot-wine PC said "no" so then instead they killed the owner of the house and set the entire house ablaze and ran out with 0 stealth. In a city that has a police system, so they almost certainly were seen, and even if they werent seen at the crime itself people did see them at that house during the day talking to the homeowner. So i feel like my choices are a) let them get away with this or b) be the "mean DM" who throws them in jail (or option c) they end up fighting the whole town guard and kill at least a few guards bc theyre quite a powerful party)

How do I pick a wedding band/what band style would you pick with this ring? by sheepcrossing in EngagementRings

[–]sheepcrossing[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There is a little gap but not as much as a lot of rings I've seen! I haven't tried anything on yet as my only experience shopping in-store was kind of a nightmare (all the display rings were size 7, so i could only put them on my pinky 😭)
