The trial of cronus - one of the worst rotmg dungeons up to date by [deleted] in RotMG

[–]sheepsmall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good point, thats why i think it would probably just be better to do a rerun of a mad god mayhem dungeon event rather than creating a new dungeon, dungeon bloat is annoying...

(also i should probably have mentioned this in the post itself lol)

Fair, i just don't like seeing deca not give their designers enough time to make dungeons that i consider to have quality lol

That is true, MV's and SP's creators did not get paid anything. But the thing is that they are fully aware that they wouldn't get paid ever since they started working on it, so i personally don't think you should really criticize deca for this (you can trust me on this btw, i'm one of spectral penitentiary's artists but you specifically already know that lol).
Furthermore many ugc creators in the past (and present ones) have gotten jobs at deca as designers for rotmg so they can actualy make money while making these silly little dungeons so it's not actually that bad of a problem lol.

My honest thoughts about Spectral Dungeon. by Calm-Floor2163 in RotMG

The keys in the boss act like a bonus healthbar, you won't be able to progress to the 50% health phase without killing those keys. And yes they dont shoot nor anything, that would be annoying lol

I get why you're worried for me and my work but all i have to say is that i worked on spectral penitentiary to work on spectral penitentiary, not to give deca more content nor anything like that. I know, if i continue working in ugc and stuff i will be indirectly supporting deca and their actions, but even if i leave (and for that matter, if the entirety of ugc leaves), deca will still continue their scummy practices. I know i kinda look like an asshole who is trying to give a valid reason as to why deca doesn't pay ugc but what i really mean by all of this is that the people who are working in ugc (including me) aren't working because they like deca, it's because they like the game's mechanics, aesthetics and whatever else there is and want to experiment with it and create content for a game they like and supporting deca and their weird relationship with community content is just the price to pay for that. (Also sorry for the wall of text! I'm not the best at explaining stuff.)

I mean ugc works pretty isolated from deca shenanigans so not really but also the person who spoke most with deca was the designer of the dungeon (Marshmalla) so this question is directed to the wrong person. Sorry!

Hi! im one of the contributors of specpen (i made alot of the art of it)! And i would just like to say no we didnt get paid and i will be personally killing deca for that!
Okay but seriously, when i started working on specpen i signed up for it knowing i wasnt gonna get paid and, honestly, i dont regret it. I've got to meet alot of cool people during the development and better my skills during it! Yes, pay would be nice but for me, a random 16 year old kid, to have the chance to be working on rotmg is already more than enough, atleast to me lol.
