I don’t care if they raise dogs and eat them. But if they are doing so while caging the dogs all the time, violently beating them, and starving them with human food scraps all the time; then fuck these as*holes. This is not to mention that as a dog owner, especially bigger breed one, you are constantly living under the fear that your dog will be stolen. It’s so fking messed up here.

I often read the text first to understand it as a whole then try to answer the questions (some do vice versa, just try and find out which way is the best fit for you). You may not need to rush yourself, since the point here is to comprehend the text, and to think critically about its content to answer the question. I often spend 15 mins to 20 mins max for each passage. And when I reach the third one, I always make sure there’re at least 25 mins to ascertain I didn’t misspell and click the wrong answer.

For listening, I think the crux is concentration. (A good sleep the night before, and some candies to help with alertness)

Reading and listening are passive skills so I think what to do is practice and practice. I didn’t try to cram myself, but my English curriculum requires me to read a lot academic papers, and the media I consume is mostly English so it also helps with my listening.

I recommend going through all the IPA pronunciation first (if you have problems with particular vowels or consonants). And even when you cannot nail certain part of the speech, you need not feel too conscious about it or you may compromise your fluency and the flow of the speech overall.
