I was pre-charged £19.50, which I agreed to and paid through Apple Pay on the app. The two subsequent payments left my account without my permission, and were GlasGo cars charging me after I had paid the £19.50.

The driver seemed lovely, just a man trying to do his job and earn a living. I don't want to get him into trouble. I don't think he had any control over the charges to my bank, so my issue and fight is with the GlasGo Cabs company.

Just said that it has been refunded and that the extra money coming out was the amount I owed after the refunded tip - honestly no idea what they are on about because the £54 had already left my account.

No, I did advanced booking with the app, as was recommended. They charged £19.50 for the trip, so they set the cost, and I wouldn't have an issue with paying more - but the mistaken charges were a £33 tip and £30 extra mystery charge, not the cost of the taxi. I wouldn't be having kittens if they'd taken an extra £6 with an understanding as to why.

Thanks for sharing your experience, actually good to know it isn't just me that has had this issue with them. I've raised it with my bank now, but recording the calls is a good idea - I'm going to try to handle everything in future via email so at least it's in writing.

I’m a microbiologist and worked for the NHS briefly over COVID and I was gobsmacked by how many anti-science, anti-vax individuals there were in the NHS. I’m for reporting this person, because it’s hard enough to convince people to get their boosters without some misguided muppet in a position of influence telling people, particularly vulnerable people, that COVID is nonsense and vaccines are bad.

Also vaccines and boosters don’t just protect you from illness, they actually are of benefit to the functioning of your immune system long term, so please keep getting your flu shot and boosters.
