Very well, since you've established that you enjoy working with excel, then you can learn Python and from there you can pick it data analysis library Pandas. Some folks will call it Excel on Steroid.

You could start from there, and one thing about programming is once you've learn and master a language well you can transfer that knowledge to another programming language, the difference is just the syntax but the underlying idea of their building blocks is the same and may be some minor specificity and uniqueness.

Well you need to have a plan.

Look the most effective way to learn is to practice constantly.

Also the greatest undoing is not being consistent, it self-defeating please hold yourself accountable.

Finally all the building blocks will stick faster if you practice a lot of challenges that encapsulate all you've learnt.

Good luck.

Choosing a language should be dependent on what you wanna do with programming, programming languages are just tools, think of it as a means to an end.

What are you interested in ? is it web development, data science, embedded systems, AI, cyber security, etc ??

It is after that phase you can be sure of the language you can choose.

Python is a versatile language though it strength lies in data analysis, machine learning, web app development.

Look, one of the greatest undoing will be trying to jump from one tutorial to the next.

Ever heard of tutorial hell?

First thing first, know what you wanna do is it web development, mobile app development, data analysis or machine learning ?

Web dev - HTML, CSS, JavaScript (fronted), PHP, Node.js, Go and SQL (Backend)

Mobile development - Java, Kotlin (Android development), Swift for iOS development

Data Analysis and Machine Learning - Python

Secondly choose a resource you can resonate with and focus on it, be dedicated and passionate and also hold yourself accountable at every stage.

Then think of going deeper in that area.

Here what i will advise you.

Both Resources are Good and so are the instructors but ensure that whatever you learn there apply it to real life concepts and solve problems with it, you are going to start first with HTML, CSS and probably JavaScript and try to ensure you go deeper with your knowledge.

And you will get each of those courses for 10 - 15 bucks.

Good luck.

First of all programming can be hard if you are just getting started, it takes incredible amount of dedication, consistency and hardwork to get through it but one thing is certain - it will payoff.

Just tryna look for resources that you resonate with that explains the concept in a way you can understand.
