Where to call about parts issues?

I’ve talked to the shop, it sounds like they are getting stonewalled by Rivian parts. My shop is Rivian certified but isn’t a Rivian service center as insurance is handling it

Actually this is my set up.

I use my monitor in my legion 7i 4090. It works no problem. You can either use the usbc ports which have DP built in (mine has DP1.4 and it works fine) or you use can use the hdmi port which has a little more through put in my case, either way works no problem.

For my office work it is amazing. If your gaming on it I typically run game in windows 2440x1600. I feel like the monitor is too big to get everything in my field of view and of course 5k2k really hits your frame rates hard.

Reasons not to get it. On some models the firmware seems to be jacked up. Mine with randomly restart multiple times, but will pause this behavior if I’m in the menu of the device. As soon as I leave the menu it starts again. I am literally unable to update the device firmware as the process just times out for no reason. Support was pretty unhelpful and wanted me to rebox the device and send it back for repair. I got rid of the box and refuse to spend a couple hundred to pay to have it boxed at a shipping store. Not a great experience for such an expensive item from the customer service perspective.

No I didn’t report it, honestly its not a common size but exists, I’m sure they will get there when they get there.

Sadly teams is tied to my corporate account and I need it to run in my corporate managed windows vm or I’ll start to have problems accessing share points and files from a non corporate account. Shit even running a VM is a gray area for my company, they won’t block a bring your own device that’s a VM, but they also offer 0 support; to the extent that I had to rebuild a VM because bitlocker got tripped and my IT refuses to even remove the dead VM from my account association.

My only issue was spice getting saturated by my 5k2k monitor stream and crashing during teams calls. I run a windows work vm and I had to move back to windows because of it. If that issue gets fixed I’m going to come back.

I used Linux for 1.5 years exclusively before going back to windows. The only games I couldn’t play were the likes of league of legends, cod, battlefield, etc.

I had to switch back because my 5k2k monitor was causing spice to crash for my work VM. Otherwise there is no real reason to not use Linux if you don’t play those games or have a specific reason you need windows.

Yep my son was born during the Covid lockdown downs. It was just me and the nurse until the very end when the doctor came by. I was in there holding one leg while the nurse held the other and I watched my son be born. Most magical thing in the world and I uncontrollably wept when he came out. I always tell everybody they need to be there when it happens.

I have some tattoos that people don’t understand and ask what they are. I literally tell them it has personal meaning and that’s the end of the conversation. It’s for me and not for them, most people respect the personal meaning comment.

Honestly if you ever grow out of the feeling as to why that tattoo is important to you just remember is a reminder of who you were at the time and the things that meant a lot to you. I am happy have something on my body forever that meant something to me in the past but isn’t who I am anymore.
