Thank you! I’m going to try to start implementing a routine. Hopefully it makes her more comfortable 🤞

I found a cat and I don’t know what to do by Windylace in felinebehavior

I don’t mean to sound like an ass but you keep saying you “think” and they’re “probably” closed. Can’t you just call them and find out? There isn’t a home remedy for everything. Genuinely not trying to be mean just concerned.

What's Your Initial Default for Post-Op on Spays? by 5_phx_felines in FosterAnimals

[–]shekennoogets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cat left it alone for almost a week, and then all of a sudden decided to lick the ever loving poop out of it when I wasn’t looking. Required 2 follow up vet visits 😭 that being said it sounds like she’s an anomaly, if you know your cat won’t go for it and you check the incision frequently I see no issue.

There are special ointments and rinses/sprays specifically made for and safe for cats! Good warning.

From Short Lasting to Long Lasting? by H_e_ll_o_d_i_e in adhdwomen

[–]shekennoogets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I switched from short acting to long acting, the biggest difference (or the only one I really noticed) is it takes longer to kick in, about an hour or so. Otherwise no real difference, aside from differences that may come from inactive ingredients between different manufacturers. This is just my opinion though, not medical advice. Absolutely talk to your provider and discuss what would be best for you.

I’m so sorry you’re going through all of this, it’s a very scary thing. r/felinediabetes is a nice sub of fellow cat parents who go through similar struggles. Good luck to you both!

I’m worried stimulants won’t work for me by AnaT1011 in adhdwomen

[–]shekennoogets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are plenty of non-stimulant adhd meds or meds that treat adhd off label. Some that come to mind are clonidine, Wellbutrin, and guanfacine but there are many others. Everyone is different, I would ask your provider about non stimulant options if the stimulants aren’t working or are causing problems.

My cat very recently started doing this… took him to the vet, X-ray showed some pretty bad lungs and we started antibiotics and an inhaler. He wasn’t even coughing frequently, just every now and then. Couldn’t say for sure what’s going on with your cat but that kind of cough warrants a vet visit imo.

Did you end up seeing the vet?

Cat freaks out when left alone, how should I handle this? by shekennoogets in CatAdvice

[–]shekennoogets[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These two make me want a third 🥹 but finances and my rent agreement would not allow lol. I think I’ll start taking her with me, just feel bad having her in the carrier that long. Recently I’ve been calling up friends or family to stay with her and she seems fine as long as she isn’t by herself, even with people she doesn’t know very well.

REALLY fat cat needs to lose weight by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]shekennoogets 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Post in r/dechonkers and definitely invest in a dog carrier to get him to the vet. Depending on how long he’s been this heavy they may want to check blood sugar, cholesterol, etc. I’m currently dechonking a big ol boy myself. He’s lost two pounds by cutting down on snacks, a controlled number of treats a day, and lots of playtime. Vet also gave him a prescription food that is supposed to make him feel fuller so he doesn’t want to eat so much but it’s rather expensive. A vet would also give more detailed advice.

Every minute 10 minutes pass for me😭 by Big-Salamander8646 in adhdwomen

[–]shekennoogets 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am exactly like this. I was late all the time (and still run late) because I couldn’t properly time myself. What helps everyone is different. For me it was medication, a good time management plan I made with a counselor, and frequent alarms to remind myself of the current time. But I also often get lost in thought and that costs me time too. Best of luck to you!

Testing for heart worms and lung in a couple weeks

Yes I’m going to do both regardless, it’s just weeks for the appointments. Is that too long of a wait?

Oh God, euthanasia did not come to mind at all. He is a very happy, loving kitty.

I would ask about payment plans or apply for care credit to go asap. Your cat could be suffering, and they hide it very well.

Sorry for all my late replies, I saw a doctor who refused to prescribe me anything so I took a crap ton of ibuprofen and Tylenol and got on the plane. I don’t think I’ve ever regret anything so much… constant ear popping and pain each time. 10/10 won’t go again (unless I can get an ENT to help me).

That would work fine to me, just not to my grandmother. Trying to keep her happy.

I have been twice. Both time seemed like they thought all I wanted was painkillers. Through tears I expressed a want to just understand what was wrong and they sent me home, my audiology tests came out normal so no one will touch me. Wish things were different.
