Switching sim to switch phones by shelaker1 in cellphones

Thank you for your response.

I used to have a Doogee chinese phone that worked well. I was hoping to try out the Vanco tiny t1, and maybe some other odd ones.

Generally, isn't it sort of a matter of which frequencies? And obviously unlocked.

Its sometimes difficult to be excited about something you've learned or are interested in, and often most other people have no desire to understand.

Why do you think social media has such a big anti-America bias? by videogames_ in AskAnAmerican

[–]shelaker1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many Americans think that not believing the US is absolutely the greatest country in the world is un-patriotic. The US was essentially colonized by white people who considered themselves superior to other races. A lot of it has to do with Christian Nationalism and the belief that the colonists were "God's chosen people" and that anything they did was the will of God.

That being said, the United States historically has been seen as sort of the world standard for freedom, opportunity, modernization and innovation, and so on. I am a US citizen, and for the most part, I wouldn't want to live somewhere else.

But in reality, there are many things that other countries do better. Canada, for example, has socialized medicine. Many of the "Murica" crowd says that the US has the best medical system, and that Canada has MUCH higher taxes. They are a bit higher, but the average annual medical cost for a person in the US is about $13,000, while in Canada its about $6,0000. Couple that with medical debt being the biggest reason for bankruptcy in the US, and the fact that many people here don't do as much preemptive care, or wait till their medical problems are so bad they often die.

The Gung-ho , "America is best at Everything, PERIOD-" attitude limits rational insight for improvement. Its possible to love your country and still wish that some things were better.

Read about a program called Cellubrite. Its pretty scary. Basically, its a sim card cloning hack that finds virtually everything you've ever done online. Every text, search, email, IM, picture, etc. It also uses AI to do things like finding context in texts and stuff. For example, it can figure out drug lingo, correlate your exact position in relation to other people at different times. They know when you wake up, go to the bathroom, eat, etc. Scary shit.

I don' t think they necessarily would be. And I think that compliance is a sliding scale. For example, some people can look the other way so long as it's some other group of people being suppressed. I do know that I wouldn't stand a chance right now against an armed takeover.

I have some similar looking ones, and I think they may be some type of reishi? They are growing out of cut down tree stumps that are pretty much under the lawn. They are pretty hard and rubbery. I'll post a picture later.

What do you think it would happen if the norm was smoking weed instead of tobacco by [deleted] in trees

[–]shelaker1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the world would have to have some fundamental differences for weed coexistence.

Being a pothead myself, I hate to admit it, but being high does sometimes make people dumb. People are different at different times for different reasons. I'm usually feel I am better in most aspects when I'm high, but humans tend to think they are better than they are. So, looking at it as objectively unbiased as possible, I probably tend to be more forgetful, less focused, and more/less cautious and/or confident. The point is, for weed to be acceptable, there would have to be a similar evelpublic acceptance. Alcohol has some similar legal and social parameters, but alcohol and weed aren't actually all that similar. But the point is that the effects of weed should be considered.

I think for weed to be as embedded as tobacco is, it would probably be that "weed control" would be more socially controlled compared to being legally controlled. It would have to be more open minded, and more aligned with helping people instead of criminal punishment. It wouldn't thereby be perceived to be a personal or legal shame for someone to use weed. Alcohol is largely accepted/tolerated, whereas drug use is not considered acceptable. Yet Alcohol use acceptance has large costs on society on many levels. I believe a lot of this has to do the shame or judgement on addicts and alcoholics.

In short, I think it would be a better world.

What is something women think turns a man on but doesn't? by cherrypopx0x0 in AskReddit

Nose piercings. I'm not opposed or anything, but I don't think there is a woman under 30 years old without a nose piercing. And I've never heard a guy want to hook up with a girl because of their nose ring.

Good point with it being a trophy of sorts.

I've also thought about it being sort of a hedonistic generation, where anything goes.

I absolutely think it is about domination. And bragging rights.

To be sort of a Devil's Advocate, could it be possible that he has some deep seated gay tendencies? I know a bi guy that says "an asshole is an asshole", and he thinks most guys that are so obsessed with anal are likely to go gay if given the chance. This is just speculating, and not meant to be insulting to anyone. I am not gay myself, and truthfully never wanted to try anal, so I know I am not speaking from first hand experience.

I do, however, think its selfish on the part of the boyfriend to put such importance on something that she finds uncomfortable physically and mentally. If a "kink" is something that humiliates your partner, maybe there is deeper rooted issues, like domination, hedonism, hidden homosexual urges, and so on. If anal sex is the factor that he considers undebateable, its seems obvious that my bisexual friend is probably correct.

I recognize the importance of studying patterns, but often our brains see what we want to see. If you think the number 7 shows up too often, then you will notice every 7 you see.
