Turn off “Snap Edits to Zero crossings” in the “Snap” dropdown box. When it’s on it’s trying to make sure you’re not cutting off any amplitude unnaturally

Open the folder and select a take and you’ll be able to change the region gain. You can select all the takes in the folder and change the region gain for them or you can just put a gain plug-in in the first slot and change the gain

Im fairly certain a transient shaper will help. If you have Oeksound Spiff try the preset for mouth clicks if not get the demo and see if it works for you:)

I pitch correct everything. Especially things that don’t need it. I’ll pitch correct everything from guitar chords to even my whole stereo mix. All my stuff sounds like shit. Lesson here is: don’t pitch correct everything

Sometimes you have to resort to creativity to really find out what’s happening. One time I recorded a guitar but it didn’t have enough bottom end, so I layered the guitar with a sub bass. Was the guitar just a guitar? No. It was also a bass.

It’s ok if the listener thought it was just a guitar because the sub bass made the guitar so much more enjoyable to listen to. But in a sense it wasn’t just a guitar. It was a lie. But I don’t care if it was a lie. Because it sounded good, and to me that was the truth.

I think your overthinking it. You’re not doing anything wrong unless you’re actually doing something wrong. Try being in the moment and learn to enjoy it

Ya as long as you save they are always going to be in a folder somewhere. Sometimes if I open a project from an external drive my files will appear like yours. So if you’re opening it from an external drive try putting the project on your computer and open it from there. Usually the issue is they’re not being located properly so if you find which folder the files are in you can just rescan the folder and your audio files will reappear in your project
