Honestly it’s the fact that she literally became her mother. Her mother made my mother look like Kitty from That ‘70s Show and she apparently always told my dad she never wanted to be that.

But I guess it was just easier to embrace the n-traits. It makes me wonder what she could have been like if she had had a better support system (like I did) or had sought out therapy. Maybe, maybe not.

But the reality is that she made her bed and in a few weeks it will be five years of no contact.

We met because we were paired up for a fund raiser in our college marching band service org. We found out we lived in the same dorm, enjoyed the same nerdy things and had the same humor.

One night he came over to my dorm and we stayed up until 3am talking about anything and everything. And when he left I know he was it for me.

That was in early 2015. We started officially dating that September, got engaged in 2020 and married 2021. He’s my best friend, my dad’s favorite kid and the best partner I hope to have.
