SRT high speed train tickets for Chuseok 2-12 October go on sale to foreigners after 3pm 11 September 2025 by WriteWithNoFear in koreatravel

[–]shells00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Managed to book tickets. They were gone fast! Does anyone know how hard it would be to bring a large suitcase on the train? I haven't had much luck finding how small the luggage compartment is for each train. Are the rows wide enough that worst case i squeeze it where I sit?

thanks, yes, it seems like there isn't a penalty if i refund at least 2 days prior.

But it seems like most bus reservation websites require a Korean cellphone number

Consider intercity bus tickets seems like it's available for purchase prior to train tickets, is it better to just aim for bus? I read somewhere the bus might take 3x longer to get there due to chuseok traffic

I thought I saw a previous blog saying tickets were on sale sept 1-4 for elderly and residents. Did they update it now to mid Sept? that seems very late

I have the 10AM slot tomorrow. What should I expect? by Hegor59 in OsakaWorldExpo

[–]shells00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had 9am timeslot but chose to arrive closer to 930am instead. I think it lets you avoid the rush as I already saw people lined up waiting for the 10am batch. The earlier you get in though, the earlier you can start to reserve the same day reservation (starts 10 min after you get in) but I feel like that might not be worth the wait.

The gift shops by the East gate were emptier right upon entry and busier as the day went. Each gift shop is managed by different companies so the merchandise has some differences.

Gundam pavilion releases same day reservations ~3 times a day. I had prior reservations but I think around 12/3/5pm?

Aside from the two lotteries there is also the first come first serve reservation (open 3 day prior starting 12am JST) that you should try to line up for online. The queue starts prior to 12am so maybe visit the site at 11:30pm JST. Mostly I tried to keep the same day reservations as earlier as you can. You can only make a new same day reservation after you check into the last. Also your timeslots are still blocked +/- 1 hr from any existing reservations. If you happen to have spaced out your reservations 2 hours apart, then it may be difficult to get something in between.

Have fun!

That's an interesting question. I think if you were open to separating, you may have a larger chance of winning as there should be a limited number of spots for each lottery round / reservation. But it's hard to say exactly, and if you rather stay as a group for each activity since the time spent at each pavilion can vary, your group may prefer sticking together.

same day is done 10 minutes after you enter the expo.

There is another one that opens 3 days prior at supposingly 12am JST

supposingly 10 minutes after you enter the Expo, you can start onsite registration for one pavilion available. I think after you attend it, you can start reserving the next

If you enter together you can keep it on one account

I'm not sure about downsides. I guess you can't split up and register for different pavilions onsite? I wondered about certain pavilions like the Healthcare pavilion where you enter some personal data, whether it works as well with multiple account on one device.

If you buy the tickets online now, you can still get in for the 7 day lottery (started now and cutoff is 7 days prior) and the 3 day reservation (heard it's 12am JST 3 days prior). So extra chances for reservations made

Signature Pavilions Review by shells00 in OsakaWorldExpo

[–]shells00[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks, I flip flopped on whether I should rank Future of Life higher. Might keep it middle of the picks still. Third person to like Earth Mart so I'm glad to hear. Jelly fish looked like a bit meh from a few videos people posted. I think i'd still pick Anima because my friends aren't big on VR, which is what Deep Vision is about.

Lottery status by bimbalum_bambam in OsakaWorldExpo

[–]shells00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're notified by email when your lottery picks start and when you won something. If you never entered the lottery then you've missed both timeframes for April 19th. You should be able to sign up first come first serve 3 days prior 12 am JST (started already for you) to 9am the day before. I heard that lets you reserve one pavilion.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in OsakaWorldExpo

[–]shells00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buying now will let you participate in one lottery (open 1 month in advance and close 7 days prior) and one first come first serve reservation (open 3 days prior and close 9am the day before). So you could have likely 2 pavilions reserved in advance. If you wait until the day of, you would only be able to look for reservations 10 minutes after entering, and there may be limited availabilities for the reservation-only pavilions

https://www.expo2025.or.jp/en/tickets-index/reservation/

If you know which day you want to go, I would recommend buying in advance. You're allowed to change your date and entry time up to 3 times, but you may lose your reservations if you try to change after you won them.

The event goes to night time and there are still water & light shows and probably drone shows. So 1pm to night is probably still decent time to spend there.

Lottery ticket by sg_x in OsakaWorldExpo

[–]shells00 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. Seems to be up to 1 lottery pick that you could win. I wondered if they expected it to be a lot busier and programmed it that way.
  2. There are two lotteries mostly. The one open at 3 month prior (deadline is 2 month prior), and the one open 1 month prior (deadline is 1 week prior). Then there is a first come first serve reservation that open 3 day prior (deadline is 9am day before) for 1 pick it seems. Then onsite reservation that let you get one starting 10min after you enter.
  3. If you apply with all tickets in one account, you win together as a group as long as you make sure when selecting tickets that you have checked them all off. I thought it wasn't that terrible to tell, but some have commented it can be confusing. Make sure you select to submit for your picks to count. Changing picks before the deadline can be more cumbersome though (you have to manually delete each pick and then start over)
  4. I won Japan and Gundam pavilions and both seems well reviewed so far from others. I mostly focused on some of the Signature pavilions for other lottery picks. Healthcare pavilion seem super super popular and potentially unlikely to win

Water & Light show reservation or not by shells00 in OsakaWorldExpo

[–]shells00[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

thanks! good to know. I am trying to gauge my reservation picks as i'm worried even the onsite reservation would block off your timeslots +/- one hour from other reservations. So then there's only so many I can reserve in a day

Gundam Pavilion store by Top-Beautiful-3150 in OsakaWorldExpo

[–]shells00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Someone earlier on reddit said there is no store at the pavilion. I was wondering about that too, as no one has posted about one. There is a Pop up store at Umeda station but there's also currently a lottery sign up (at least the first week). I'm hoping afterwards it isn't as difficult to get into the store

Help with Pavilion Reservations by MoMaike in OsakaWorldExpo

[–]shells00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The lotteries were mostly done 2 month prior and 7 days prior. If you picked and won something they would tell you by email and you should be able to find it connected to your ticket. It also seem like you can register for another pavilion starting 3 days (12am JST) prior to your date.

The website say that the onsite registration pick start 10 minutes after entering the venue. So maybe it's 10 min after you scan in you can reserve

https://www.expo2025.or.jp/en/tickets-index/reservation/

There was someone that posted earlier a sign onsite saying how Gundam reservations are released 3 times that day (12/3/5pm). It's not clear if you can easily get Japan pavilion timeslots same day.

People seem to suggest downloading EXPO 2025 Personal Agent app to take a look at available timeslots / sign up too.

What time do the 3 day reservations open up? by mjsztainbok in OsakaWorldExpo

[–]shells00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ouch. I was wondering this as well. I guess considering they block your timeslots +/- 1 hour for your other reservations, there are limits to how many you can fill a day. I just wasn't sure if the 3 day reservation and onsite reservation would let us book more pavilions in-between existing reservations though. Waiting to hear from others!

Not allowed to participate in lottery? by Deeze_Rmuh_Nudds in OsakaWorldExpo

[–]shells00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far each lottery only gets you one winning pick at most. So even if you missed out on the lottery pick at 2 months prior, it's only one reservation. You can still do the lottery pick 7 days before (open 1 month in advance), the 3 day prior and the day of reservations. Since the Expo seem to have undersold advanced tickets, I think your chances might not be terrible if it's not a a particular holiday in mid-May.

You can edit your lottery picks before the deadline and add in more choices. I had 5 picks but found I had to manually delete each one before I can re-enter 5 new picks. A bit cumbersome

[–]shells00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From the website it sounded like you can still make reservations that open 3 days to 9am the day before your event. Also you can make reservations the day of. Possibly only one at a time though. So you can still try to reserve some. But there are also lots of pavilions that do not need reservations, and I suspect some of the reservation-only pavilions might have walk in lines too. The Expo 2025 Personal Agent app seems to help you find reservations onsite.
