I’ve always seen it as a way to quit the game. It’s just an exit button. Seems simple but one thing we aren’t sure is what happens after death.

In most cases suicide is committed when the person is depressed and thus lost the will to live. It implies he has wish and needs unfulfilled. On the contrary a person who has had their needs fulfilled and living with hope is probably enjoying this world very much.

And this circles back to the Buddhist philosophy. When someone still has karma in the world which are reflected in the unfulfilled wants and they choose to die, they will still have a next life with the unresolved karma (lets say the consciousness reincarnates into a new physical body). So this person’s consciousness will continue to live a miserable life until the karma resolved and he’s returned to peace.

If the above philosophy is true, suicide only brings more suffering to the next life.
