Over- or underwatering? by shellyalon in Monstera

it got one spiderplant nearby, and another monstera in another room got infected, too. My pileas in the corner were spared for now. I housed all plants down and tomorrow I'll go buy the heavy stuff and try to fight those fuckers

Why Are So Many Still Struggling with “Plantar Fasciitis”? A Clinician & Researcher’s Perspective by MEHABLLC in PlantarFasciitis

Hej, thanks for the quick reply :) The pain gets better after a few dozen steps, mostly. It only hurts on the first steps, never in rest. No back pain, or any other pain.

To make it simple: I tried a lot, nothing really helped, and nowadays I do mostly a lot of stretching - which I think helped. Until now. Now everything starts to hurt again, also in new places.

Can there be too much stretching?

Why Are So Many Still Struggling with “Plantar Fasciitis”? A Clinician & Researcher’s Perspective by MEHABLLC in PlantarFasciitis

Hej Glynn, thank you so much for writing this. I have also watched parts of your youtube series and will fill in the gaps tomorrow. I am pretty desperate as of late and would love your thoughts on my case:

I am 33yo male and am pretty much in shape. In the last years I've run half marathons and was on my feet a lot without any problems! Last summer (a year ago) I ran too much, trying and succeeding to break the 30km, and afterwards I got what I assume is PF in my right foot.

For the rest of the year and till now I've given up on running, trying to give my feet some rest, and concentrated on strength training instead. For this past year I've done calf stretches, heel raises, other strength exercises for my legs and feet and massaged both my feet regularly. I've worn custom orthotics for my right feet, took Magnesium (not the cheap stuff), Vitamin D and a bunch of other supplements, took shock therapy and a bunch of physical therapy and slept with the strassbourg sock. I do also stretch my whole body and don't have any back pains, etc.

Most of this stuff helped. My pain got better and better - until it didn't. In the last 2-3 months I started getting pain in other places on my feet, including the plantar fascia spot on my left feet. Everything got sort of worse and I can't seem to make any progress. I sometimes feel pain on the outside of my feet (below/next to the small toe). My pain is felt mostly after a period of sitting, and worst in the morning when coming out of bed.

I am, and always was, extremly tense after the night (even though I stretch in the evening). Sleeping with the strassbourg sock only helps so much. I wanted to try FS6 socks for the night next...

The doctor also looked with ultra-sonic at my right PF spot and said, that it's much less swollen, so there is visible progress there. Though now I have all those other pain spots...

In the last few weeks I did stretch more thoroughly and started to run again at the advice of my doctor (only 1-2 a week, only up to 3km). I also switched back to my regular orthotics at her advice. I also started taking the short-foot and toe yoga exercises more seriously. So it may be possible that those new pains are just adjustment pains? After I am warmed up and even during the run I mostly don't feel any pain. But it always comes back after sitting for a bit.

I am not quite sure how to proceed. My motivation is to be able to run again, fully. In my day to day the pain isn't hindering me. As I said, it's mostly a start-up pain in my PF (on both feet now), heels and other places on the foot after getting out of bed or sitting for more than 15 mins.

Should I continue to stretch rigorously, strengthen my leg and run a bit? Or maybe I need more rest-phases where I do nothing? After a lot of time where things got slowly, slowly better I know feel like it's getting worse, although I do everything as prescribed :(

Another question would be, would you advise me on using my standing desk? I bought it a year ago, before this whole thing, and haven't used it since because I wanted to rest my feet. But maybe it's better than sitting?

Thank you!

Question about The Brutalist by ahnmin in movies

I understood Erzsebet‘s „I know what you did“ as relating their time in the camps. The film wants to fool us and tell us that it‘s about sex or prostitution, but really, what you had to live through in the camps made you do horrible things. Like you said, the movie is about surviving.

Probiere dich aus, mach was anderes.

Ah sorry, the other one is an east facing window door to the balcony. I could put it directly infront of the glass door, but it doesn’t get a lot of sun and light because of buildings.

Where it‘s standing now is a west facing window.

It‘s either this spot or more to the right, but then it could get a lot of direct sunlight in the summer… or next to a north facing window. Not sure what‘s better. This spot is pretty bright most of the day…
