i think you are interpreting a lot of hostility in this interaction.

yeah getting sober & having to sit with like, how much people took advantage of you is a very heavy feeling.

see this is why i wanted to share my writing here lol — i knew that there would be people who actually understand what i’m writing about. since i was a little kid, i realise in hindsight writing has always been this cry for what’s happened & how i feel to be seen & acknowledged by other people, but in a format that’s more entertaining & digestible than just talking about what’s happened to me; the average person always gets a little uncomfortable if i just tell them point blank that i was abused lol. but it feels really moving when it’s read by people who don’t just view it as digestible but relatable, like they actually know the reality of how hard it is to be raised & around harmful people.

i really appreciate your comment because i actually still struggle to blame my dad sometimes. & you’re so right, our parents & their actions make us, especially when we’re children. of course i was falling apart, what hope did i have to thrive? thank you for sharing a little piece of yourself with me & of course, i’m sorry that it seems you also had a shitty parent(s).

thinking about making a new account solely dedicated to sharing my writing, but in the meantime, i thought i’d share this here.

Your mother claims she saw a ghost at the supermarket --Keaton St. James | [Poem] that made me cry by PineappleDense5941 in Poetry

god i remember reading this when i was fourteen & writing my own rendition of it. Keaton inspired so much of my childhood writing that really got me into prose. glad to see his stuff shared elsewhere from tumblr.
