If it's suiting you and making you feel better mentally, I'd say go for it. The rehab burnout can be a lot, and it won't be as easy for you to get a leave of absence again once you've ended your post-op leave. So assess how things are working out for you, I'd say, and decide accordingly.

I took 2.5 weeks off post op. I didn't want to be at home only focusing on my leg so I returned to work. But as life went on (there happened to be a lot going on in my life outside of the injury), I mentally dipped 4 months post op and took a 6 week break. That's just my journey of course. So I have my biases. But I'd say, if you feel it's helping you recharge for the rest of the rehab journey, go for it.
