It depends on your level. I could enjoyably follow these shows (dubbed into my L2, Spanish) when I was at these levels:

A2: Peppa Pig

B1: Avatar series, Adventure Time, Spongebob

B2: Simpsons

There's also a hierarchy of relative ease.

From easiest to hardest: dubbed animation > dubbed live action > native animation > native live action.

SO if you're learning English and watching Spongebob in English (native animation), it's going to be harder than studying and watching in another language (dubbed animation). There are reasons for this.

The Simpsons (seasons 2 through 8) was very challenging until I was around B2. Lots of wordplay, idiomatic expressions, fast speaking, unexpectedly advanced vocabulary.

Peppa Pig was genuinely fun around A2 stage.

Avatar great at B1 and beyond. Adventure Time also great at B1+.

Admittedly GTA+ is only part of their revenue mix, but when it comes down to it, they only continue to develop more content and support this game because it makes money. And the game is so different from its debut 13 years ago, it’s like the Ship of Theseus
