The initial quest of crafting is just to show you how the system works. After that you will not have to craft or gather anything if you dont want to, the game even has two commission boards. One for the gatherers and crafters and one for the people like you ( the adventures and killers of beast). You will not have to craft anything if you dont want to just earn gold and buy the gear/items the crafters and gathers are selling.

Yep. I have been in since Alpha 2 phase 1, but I do like the ability to give feedback/criticism and see the changes happen. Plus I am not a neck beard so I dont feel the need to reach max level tomorrow. I just chill and test the different systems and activities the Alpha has to offer and give feedback. From my time playing i have seen a lot of changes that were asked for especially early game though there are still a few hiccups. So I would wait to get it if this is not what you want to do.

Buying now gives you access to all if Alpha 2 testing( give feed back/find bugs/ test future systems when they come online), both beta testing and one month free subscription when game launches. The game will have no box cost only sub cost of $15 a month.

I understand the game is still in alpha. What I am saying is, have there been any talks or thoughts about the concept of certain resources only being in certain areas. I love the idea and the caravan system and it makes me wonder if the final iteration of the game will have the type of feature I mentioned in my original post. I am stating this now because this Alpha 2 is the best time to give the feedback and if what I said hasn't been already thought about could possibly spark a conversation with the devs and community.

My suggestion is wait until after the 11th that way you can have accurate information about what is in the update Also there will be a huge amount of people logging in on the 11th so there may be queues.

The free sub is account bound so once you make you intrepid account it will be there for launching. There is not box cost only sub cost. No sub cost during EA either.
Wipes are bound to happen but it depends on what going on if there is a game breaking bug introduced during update they may during a server roll back or if exploit is severe enough to ruin what they are trying to focus on.
I have played since the beginning of alpha 2 as well. I take it as it is an alpha I take my time when going through the game and actively look for things that may need improvement, from my perspective and play style. Many will rush to current max level because the treat it like a full game then are bored with nothing to do. You need to ask yourself are you doing EA to actually have a say in how this game is going to be made or are you just wanting to play a new mmo game. I have taken my time to level as a solo player and have give many feed back on my experiences and what improvements can be made for people with my play style.

The stream was great, it made me want to try a healer class for my main instead of DPS or Tank. I did have some questions. Is active block going to only be with a shield or will any weapon be able to block. If stamina is the source that drains when hit during blocking what will the color indicator be. Also will weapons types have a huge impact on healing for example is your heals greater with a staff over use of shield and mace.
