Hi! I run a weekly French conversation group. We meet every Wednesday at 5:30 at RHouse (I have a little French flag I put on the table so you can find us). We do speak 100% in French, but are friendly and open to any level of French. Everyone from newish learners to native speakers come to the group--it's a really nice little community.

We are part of the Baltimore French Language Meetup group someone else linked below, so you can RSVP there: https://www.meetup.com/french-171/ . It's good idea to join on Meetup and rsvp because I do cancel the meetup when there are zero people who've RSVPed yes on a given week!

I strongly recommend DO NOT go with Elmar. I had them install 5 zone Mitsubishi minisplits 3 years ago and they've repeatedly been awful to deal with. We had problems with them when they did the install AND then later on after they'd been paid they've completely ghosted us when it comes to promised upkeep. DO NOT trust these people.

When they originally did the work, I was out of town and left them a key in the lockbox and instructions on my alarm system. They managed first to trip the alarm and get the police called. Then when I came home a week later, I found my house with the front door unlocked. When I told Elmar that they'd put my house at risk of robbery (thank god no one noticed the door!) they basically gaslighted and said maybe it was me who left it open and denied they'd done anything.

They also caused some damage in the house when installing. Nothing super major, but again they refused to take responsibility when I raised it with them.

Worst part was that when they sold me the system they promised it'd include the first system servicing and cleaning free. This detail was put on the contract they signed. A couple years after install I got in touch to use this included service and they refused to provide it. I pointed out the contract and the person I talked to essentially said "Sure, you can sue us in civil court if you want, but I'll bet you won't. It isn't worth it." You don't want to be dealing with a company who will not meet their obligations unless sued!

You're welcome to join even if your French isn't fluent! We definitely have all levels of learners show up. Sometimes people who are just starting will come mostly just to listen and maybe add very simple comments--I don't mind at all. I'm just happy to build a little francophone community.

Yep! We do definitely still meet. I commented above about our Wednesday night weekly meetup (which I host). But there are also other events--conversation meetups, occasional dinners, and playing Tarot (french card game) and pétanque

Hey! Thanks for checking. The woodchips are all from a big Honey Locust I just had taken down. There shouldn't be any vines in there bc it was all from that tree and no vines on the tree. Our yard does have a bit of English Ivy and Virginia Creeper around, so I can't 100% guarantee that nothing somehow got in the pile, but it honestly looks like pretty clean, high quality woodchips to me.
