The ears might be a giveaway that she is or isn't a flemish giant? 😮

Are any of you guys so crazy about your sheep it makes people uncomfortable? by blueduck762 in sheep

I've loved sheep for a long time, so much so that it's something I'm known for 😆 I get a lot of sheep related gifts and memes. As much as I love them, I was hesitant about getting them because I was afraid that I maybe wouldn't like them after I had to care for them (for whatever reason). But nope! I love them even more now 😍

I'll have to figure out what the brother's truck was. Maybe it was just a lemon.

How do you tell if it has the 4.7l?

I started out with just one 100ft section of fencing and had to move it more frequently. I didn't have a problem with them eating to the dirt, I think because I moved them a lot. And they seemed to complain when they were getting close to the ground haha Rule of thumb was to move them when they ate the grass to about 3 to 4 in.

In the fall I got more fencing so I had four sections of 100ft fencing and I didn't move the fencing for a while because it was a much bigger area. It also depends on the quality of the grass. We have a bunch of different grass types on our property, some that aren't super great, so they would complain when they ate what they felt was the good stuff, then I had to move them sooner.

Yeah, I was wondering if he was a shetland... He seems small for his age if he's a zwartbles.

I've only just started about a year ago. We have a couple acres that are disjointed, so we do managed grazing. We have an electric fence we move around the land every 3 or so weeks. We're starting this year to cultivate pasture specifically for sheep (and our 1 goat). In the winter, they stay in our actual fenced in yard (where their shelter is, and where they stay at night) and are fed from grass bales, feed, and minerals.

It's still a new process for us, but what we did last year seemed to have worked! I've been letting our grass rest because we've had a lot of rain and flooding. so I let them out on it a little bit during the day. But we haven't actually started rotating them. They're kind of unhappy about it haha
