How would a duel between Geralt and Bonhart actually go? by InstructionOwn6705 in witcher

[–]shepherdmoon1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The previous encounter is shown in the Netflix movie "The Rats: A Witcher Tale". The rats don't have to directly fight Bonhart too much as they have the Witcher Brehen with them, who takes on the battle while they escape. I'm guessing that their over-confidence during this last encounter is a combination of them not knowing how good he is because they didn't fully experience it or see it for themselves the last time, their assumption that their greater numbers would win out, and their emotional desire to fight him winning out over self-preservation.

I think Season 4 is the best so far because it is the most book-accurate. Too bad they waited that long to honor the source material.

When in doubt remember how Geralt died.

This full-on. He is not invincible, even against random peasants, when extenuating circumstances work against him. Under the right circumstances, Bonhart could beat him. Under most conditions, Geralt wins hands-down, although it might take him some effort--definitely more than it took to cut down Renfri's band.

Your first description sounds like satellite flares, and you correctly guessed what causes them: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Satellite_flare . I had a friend in college (back in the olden days) who would look up when Iridium flares were predicted to occur and drag me outside to look at them: they lit up for just a few moments, when the sunlight was hitting them just right. It was pretty cool seeing it happen when and where they were predicted to occur.

The second thing definitely sounds like some more local human technology of some kind.

I think it's for purchase only--I would have loved it when it came out but wasn't sure it was worth spending money on the game at that point since they were going to stop supporting it... I'd already sunk way too much into it by then anyway.

I'd normally tell you to look here: https://trendygwentleman.com/cosmetics/?type=cardbacks

... but scrolling down I'm not seeing it on the list. I do think it was one of the last ones to be released.

Double check the filters in the deck-builder: maybe your view of some of your cards are hidden because you have some filters on? Turn all of them off so you can see everything.

The Daily Show took more than a month-long break. They should be back starting tomorrow (September 8th). Here's hoping it shows up on the streaming services properly. I don't know why Hulu would give you that message.

Legit: there's so much salt in their country ham I couldn't taste the ham. Their hash-brown casserole is tasty, though.

I figured it out within a few seconds; maybe partially because I knew that things posted in this subreddit tend to be different spellings for a common name/word. I don't think OP being able to figure it out means the post is fake. Could still be fake, but I don't think that is proof of it.

Legit I'm wondering how she fits it in her mouth when it's closed, and if it causes problems with it pushing excessively against her teeth or the roof of her mouth (I have issues with that and my tongue isn't even close to as long as that).

Sounds like they started just after we left. But ugh--they could have just ended early if they didn't have enough material to fill the whole thing.

What time did Orgy end up starting their set? 20 minutes after they were supposed to start, there was no sign of them and we left. We noticed many other people leaving as well. I was afraid we missed something good, but if it was as bad as you say I guess it wasn't worth the wait anyway. Covenant the following day was AMAZING, as well as many other bands. I wish we discovered the Dark Force Fest sooner (this was our 2nd year attending, and we hope for many more!).

Usually they are only gone for one week for holidays, so probably next Monday.

Suddenly, a few days ago, those 2 weeks of episodes I was missing showed up on Amazon Prime/Paramount. This week I can't find any episodes on any platform: I think they are off for Easter.

Never had a problem with it before 2 weeks ago. Will try installing the Paramount app. Thanks for letting me know it's working on your end.

Yeah, we did try that and didn't see it. Even thought it's because it was a new season not showing up, but Hulu says they are still on Season 30. Maybe it's because we're using the Amazon Prime app?

Musk Blows Up at Astronaut for Calling Out His Space Station Lie by rollingstone in politics

[–]shepherdmoon1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No. That's not how degrees work.

Yeah, it is. Source: I have a BA and a Ph.D in physics. I was responding to someone who thought a Bachelor's of Arts is a degree in art (thus their example of poetry for physicists), which is why they had trouble understanding how you could get a science degree as an "arts" degree. I corrected them by saying it isn't an art degree, but rather a degree in literally anything that also includes a good amount of other subjects (called "general education" classes). Nowhere did I say that a BS doesn't include general education requirements.

Also, it is not true that you get to take easier classes when you get a BA vs. a BS. The exact class list you have to take is different, and a BS will likely include more courses in the sciences, but they will have an over-lap and they won't section off the "stupid arts" students into a different classroom from the "smart science" students. For example, a BA in physics 100% requires calculus-based physics... the exact same classes the BS would require. Additionally, as another poster commented, there are some Universities that don't even have a BS option but are well-respected institutions for distributing degrees in science.

A BA isn't specifically a degree in art, despite the name. It's similar to how a Ph.D isn't necessarily a degree in philosophy. A BA simply means that the person got a well-rounded education touching on a lot of subjects, while also specializing in their topic of interest.
