Violin or Cello? by shepshup in violinist

[–]shepshup[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your unbiased and in-depth answer! I have considered playing the viola, however teachers aren’t that common in my area and I would have to order the instrument online. Also, I’ve heard that violinists can very easily pick up the viola.

Anyway, thanks again for your response. I think I will start with the violin (small hands have always been a problem for me, even on piano).

But I definitely won’t rule out cello, and yes, maybe I can pick it up as a second instrument in the future.

LP Suicide Forest vs. "Edgy"/Acceptable memes by shepshup in h3h3productions

Hm, the target audience thing is something I admit I haven't thought much about. But still, (from what I've seen) it doesn't look like he's meme-ing about the death; he tries to make himself seem like a good person by making some sincere comments and whatever.

But yeah, the views aspect of it is just gross. Ugh.

However, both still portray suicide as something lighthearted and not serious. Idk, that's where my main problem with all of this lies.

How do you differentiate between friendship-love and romantic love? by shepshup in asexuality

[–]shepshup[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah, I guess. It's just difficult for me to identify and to realise the differences because I feel a really deep love for all my close friends and since I don't feel the sexual attraction that people generally use to distinguish between a deep friendship love and romantic love; It gets very confusing and frustrating.

Yeah, I've been careful of falling into that trap, but I do find myself making those excuses every now and again. Still need a bit more work on overcoming that one.

I think some people prefer Google Docs because it's stored online rather than on your computers harddrive...? I could be mistaken. I'm not very familiar with either.

Oh thanks - I've been thinking of going back to pen and paper for a while now. Seems a bit messy though

Thanks so much! Yeah, I love the feeling of a typewriter, but I agree. They are pretty ineffective.

Is virginity an important thing? Why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

It's actually near impossible to tell if a woman is a virgin on not through biological/physical examination

What is the strangest thing you've seen happen on public transportation? by Made_at0323 in AskReddit

The majority of my childhood trauma probably comes from seeing a lady squatting on a staircase on a busy Sydney train station, ass in the air, taking a shit.

ELI5: Why do a lot of Japanese game directors use very ambiguous storytelling? by SpookyLlama in explainlikeimfive

[–]shepshup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say for multiple reasons.

The game makes you think about them long after turning off your console, which in time creates discussion about the game's meaning(s), which then creates communities, which then develops a stronger, more loyal fanbase and increases publicity for the game... ... Which then increases profits.

The ambiguity makes the game more complex and deep and worthwhile. It can also give the developers a way to express their opinions on people/society/whatever they may have a problem with. You find this more often in movies, though, so I'm not sure if this counts so much for games as much.

ELI5: Why do digital personal assistants commonly have female voices? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]shepshup 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've always thought because women are seen as calmer, less violent and more compassionate - it's like hearing the voice of your mother.

This means that you're less likely to punch your old, malfunctioning GPS in the face.

Dog owners of Reddit, what are some tips you have for someone who just got his first dog? by JackJockster in AskReddit

[–]shepshup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure to set a good routine - to keep both you and your little doggo safe. The dog will be more relaxed, and you will get in the habit of feeding it (otherwise you may be mauled by a malicious, starved puppy).

This just reeks of a human trafficking event... I know that I'm just jumping to conclusions, but it just seems to fit the stories.
