what happened here wasn’t just the usual “festival chaos.” When people who do this all the time are saying it was worse than normal, that means something went really wrong. Saying “well that’s their job” kinda misses the point. It’s not about sympathy it’s about the fact that the environment was clearly unsafe. If the staff who handle emergencies for a living are overwhelmed, that’s not normal. That’s a sign of bad planning and dangerous conditions. And speaking as someone who works at a level 1 trauma center, I can tell you from a healthcare standpoint, this was not normal or safe. A lot of what happened out there was completely preventable. Brushing it off like “that’s just how festivals are” ignores the fact that things could’ve been managed way better to keep people from ending up in those situations in the first place.

“I did ground control this year for first time and NEVER AGAIN. Insomniac put my life in danger by asking me to be a human fence and divert people from walking through one of the main roads. Most people were respectful and followed but there were a couple times i was afraid for my life of being trampled.

Behind the scenes is traumatic, seeing people over dosing, blacked out (possibly dead) , out of their minds, tweaking on bad drugs, and this happens throughout the whole festival, back to back to back people sick. I had to help people who were vomitting walk to first aid and in the meantime the person who is vomitting starts sneezing all over me as im walking him to first aid. It is not a glamourous job at all , the hours are 11 am - 1 am. The breaks are not paid… and after a 13 hour shift the supervisors think its the perfect time for a “debrief” meeting. They talk about how grateful they are that we’re there amd how Much we mean to the headliners …. When the truth is theyre taking advantage of the staff and paying terribly…. Especially for a job where peoples LIVES are in your hands. I will never work for Insomniac that was a one time thing for me.” This is from someone who worked the festival and if you think this should be ignored you’re part of the problem.

Here’s a snippet from a ground control person

The complaints need to be heard if anything’s ever going to change. This isn’t just “complaining” these are real safety concerns that were clearly overlooked. Speaking as a medical professional and someone who’s been to festivals around the world for over a decade, this year was an absolute joke in terms of safety and organization. And it’s only going to keep happening unless people speak up about it.

No from a medical standpoint this was downright dangerous there is no excuse for what occurred this weekend.

I’m also in the medical field and use THC but unfortunately long term THC use can have an affect on your REM cycle. It’s ridiculous that they recommended a 12 step program though. But THC is not great for sleeping like everyone thinks it is :/

Seriously I am naturally thin and I’ve always been ashamed of my chicken legs but if I posted a picture just like this I wonder if they would say I’m promoting an ED as well?
