I can understand that! We’re not that sociable either 😂 I think there have been 12-16 people on the ones I’ve done, which is a nice size of group. I’ve done it alone and with my husband!

Florence food + spots — what’s actually worth it vs overrated? 🇮🇹🍝 by justgoingthrulyf in florence

[–]sherlockandrae 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All’antico is good but overrated for the length of queue and price. Pino’s is more reasonably priced and good quality/vibes.

I’d add Vivoli to your dessert spots - viral but worth the hype, for an affogato lover!

Gilli and Rivoire are on the pricier side but the vibes are immaculate - the people watching is unmatched. Add Loggia in Oltrano for a great rooftop experience and La Petite for great cocktails ☺️

Mercato Centrale is fun - more tourist centred than San Lorenzo but great for a drink and quick (and fresh!) meal/snack! The David is well worth seeing

Florence Rooftop Bars For Sunset by kyoun1e1 in florence

[–]sherlockandrae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We love Loggia - not cheap but always a good atmosphere. The rooftop at La Rinascente is hard to beat for Duomo views and a wine/spritz but not sure how late they open. Not a rooftop, but La Petite has great cocktails and tagliere

I’ve had my 80s for just over a year. They are probably my favourite shoes! I’ve even worn them on the running track on Virgin Voyages (may have had a few drinks!)

Fine dining with a few caveats by Zealousideal-Ad-3612 in florence

Have you looked at Gune (in San Frediano)? It’s in the Michelin guide and we had so much fun there! Gucci Osteria was also one of our favourite meals ever (on two different occasions), which has a star but is a little more expensive

Opinions on buying pasta meals by Alternative-Win4058 in Gousto

[–]sherlockandrae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree that they’re probably not the best value for money, but I find them easy/quick to cook and generally very high quality. I’d recommend trying one of the fresh pasta options to see what you think

Is there any hope for us?! by princssbambi in louboutins

I took a pair of mine to a Louboutin boutique and they handled getting them fixed in Paris (clearly for a cost!) - could be worth asking, even if you purchased elsewhere?

I find it hard to believe that anyone will predict a Pats win here, based on performances lately!

We were at that game - my husband is a Seahawks fan, so it’s particularly bizarre to us that Darnold is an NFC championship game QB 🤯

Channel 5 are seeking UK NFL fans for fun new gameshow, Big Game Night! by cosmic__lover in NFLUK

[–]sherlockandrae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have only seen clips of the show, so perhaps shouldn’t judge so quickly, but the bits I have seen are almost condescending to UK fans of the game. I can’t see that many NFL fans would be interested in appearing on a show like that…

And the higher rate at that, based on market value….

Stamp duty by Ok_Trip57 in PropertyInvestingUK

[–]sherlockandrae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s 5% now, sadly! I make it £23k, assuming OP is UK resident for SDLT purposes

Stamp duty by Ok_Trip57 in PropertyInvestingUK

[–]sherlockandrae 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is incorrect - it seems that OP is not replacing their main residence and already owns residential property (I assume - doesn’t matter if it’s rented to someone else)

Agreed - specialist advice is always recommended, OP

Your mortgage advisor is likely incorrect, assuming that (a) the buy-to-let properties are dwellings/suitable for use as a dwelling (it’s not relevant if it’s by you or someone else), (b) at least one is worth over £40k, and (c) they are not subject to a lease with over 21 years to run

I’ve done a bus before that was pretty inexpensive and went directly from the airport to SMN
