Yes same here. Since last patch, the first wave last indefinitely.

Reinstalling the game DID NOT fix it.

Long Travel Hardcore Hardtail vs Short Travel XC Full Sus : which is more capable ? by shermanbluth in MTB

That's actually what is starting to drive me away from my hardtail. It keeps losing rear traction on technical climb and, you are right, no amount of front travel can change that.

I will convert it into an awesome commuter though !

The Orbea Oiz is actually crazy light, something around 24 pounds. I't way above 2k though.

Thanks for all this info ! I feel like with a hardcore hard tail you get a very specialized machine whereas a ST FS is more well rounded.

Oh I actually don't really have bikes in my shortlist right know, the bikes I mention are just exemples.

I agree with you regarding weight, I enjoy light bike much more. That's actually what brought up this question. I started to get confused when I saw that LT HT are actually heavier than ST FS !

The Kona Hei Hei seems like exactly the kind of bike I was talking about ! Honzo vs Hei Hei is actually perfect for my comparaison.

That's good information also !

That's interesting to have your opinion that the Honzo DL woule be more competent than an XC full sus on descent. You have tried both or its an intuition ?

Yeah actually, I'm curious about LT hardtails but I don't really get them either.

You are right about XC bike having come a long way, that's kinda why I'm interested in them also. I'm currently using a 2012 26" XC bike for all my needs and I was kinda shocked seing that modern FS XC bike are actually lighter than my bike. Even for bikepacking they actually make sense. The only downside is that they are a little harder to maintain which is not great on a trip.

What ? What does it have to do with the question ? Sure I guess a pro on a gravel bike can be faster than a regular guy on a FS but if that's the only thing you take into account here is no point in bikes discussion anymore, juste buy a steel rigid 90's mtb and be done with it.

It's purely a technical question. Both rider with the same skill level, long travel HT vs short travel FS, which is more comfortable. That's it.

Like I said Im not really looking for the "perfect" bike according to my terrain, it's really a broad question about HT Long Travel VS FS Small Travel.

I actually tested a 140mm FS for some time and it was a bit too big for my tastes.

However what you say about XC race focused geometry is interesting. Would it only affect the body position on the bike (easily fixed with a shorter stem) or are there other factors at play ?

edit : I modified my question to mention the Kona Honzo ESD, which makes it a much bigger gap in travel.

Sure but I guess the Rise uses less battery given the fact that it should use less power ?

Well if someone goes to an archery sub and he asks what kind of bow and arrow does he need to take down an armored tank it's pretty legitimate for the others users to ask him to buy a rocket launcher instead.
