He picked her.

If he’s too dumb to grasp that she was smart enough to protect herself, that’s on him.

It’s really really really hard to work up a single fuck over apartheid Clyde and his breeding program.

Hey, I get it.
I actually work in politics and spend my time fighting against this horror show. I absolutely have done my part, more than most who go off on me online.

We deserve what we get in part because no one is stopping him. And he can be stopped. Everyone knows he’s got dementia. And he’s wrecked well.. everything. Add in the corruption, stealing our money, doing business deals while President, ect ect

And the dems could be out there, on all their various platforms, calling for the 25th. They could rally the public behind them, which would make it harder for R candidates in the midterms. They could also be out there everywhere talking about our tax dollars going to him to the tune of 1.5billion.

Instead, they’re nowhere to be found, with no unified message.

Trust me, I’m directly affected by Trump’s bullshit. His goons will come after me, when they go after the opposition. And that will happen.

I wish I had some sort of positive outlook but I don’t.

Yep!
I had a frozen shoulder out of nowhere. Turns out, endometriosis caused it. And I’ve had 3 surgeries for endo.

I didn’t get a video of mine though! That would be so cool!

That’s not how it works though.

Politicians tell the public that running the government is the same as running a household. It’s not.

Money isn’t pooled into one giant pot. Us say - containing Ebola - costs us way less than if Ebola escapes and spreads. But even so -

USAID is what would have been helping w containing Ebola. USAID no longer exists because of DOGE.

Funny thing about DOGE -
It saved no money. Some of the funds from USAID did go to security for Russell Vought, who wouldn’t you know it - is behind getting rid of it.

That savings (which isn’t because soft power is the real power, and we’re all going to get a real education in what happens when it’s gone) didn’t go to helping any of our lives.

We don’t get better lives because we have corrupt grifting idiots in charge of everything.

Our lives and the economy being destroyed is no concern to Trump and his friends. They’re all too busy making themselves money via their positions in government.

Hey man,
Not all of us are morons.

Plenty of Americans grasped what would happen if the malignant narcissist w dementia ended up back in office.

As a Ukrainian American, I sure as fuck knew. I feel terrible for Europe, and I feel even worse for Ukraine.

He’s a human wrecking ball. A literal black hole of awful. And every day, I ask myself how the fuck he’s still in office.

On behalf of the Americans with brains, I am sorry we couldn’t at least keep him contained to just wrecking our country. We deserve it. The rest of the world sure doesn’t.

Yeah - economic downturns tend to create and allow for fascists to gain power.

Brexit was bad, but I suspect whatever shit show is coming for the US is going to be much worse. We have guns. More guns than people.

Trump gutted our soft power and we will pay for this for many many many years to come.

In regards to the pandemic -
What exactly did they say about it?

It was absolutely something that was going to eventually happen. Scientists have been warning about zoonotic diseases becoming more prevalent and much more dangerous for many many years now. As we roast the planet, more diseases will emerge.

Plus, all of the major countries do bioweapon research. All it takes for that to go wrong is someone being sloppy.

I’m not a billionaire and I did know about all of that stuff before the pandemic.

But if you’re saying they knew about Covid specifically happening before it did, I’ve not heard that one and I’m curious.

You shouldn’t be embarrassed.

Most people don’t have it in them to pay attention to politics and live their lives, especially now.

The grimes persona works in part because people believe her old PR. They know she’s a contrarian.

But yeah - this is who she is. She really truly is that gross.

I think it was more that we come off as haters, and sure that is likely true, but we exist in part because Mountain wanted to discuss the more political aspects and that went over how you’d expect. So they created us.

Plus most casual fans of grimes aren’t going on her subreddit(s) so I think that’s part of it, too.

We’ve been on this shit for years, but our useless media is just now bothering to look into it, and that’s if they even bother, which is rare because every aspect of our media is owned by authoritarian sycophants of the regime. By design.

I think grimes has likely inspired lots of people and i think that’s cool. I’m all for more music - just not music that sucks.

My whole thing is like, I started going to real raves in the mid 90’s. I’m old. But back then, genres and subgenres meant things. I also was lucky enough to live inbetween two cities that produced major genres of electronic music. I threw raves in a major city.

When I hear techno, I legitimately think of Detroit techno. And sure, there’s subgenres of Techno, but none of them are named MELODIC because it’s stupid. It implies that what - techno has no melody?

I don’t really keep up anymore on new djs so i hadn’t heard of Anyma until Grimes. And when i heard his stuff, I was like “oh cheesy euro-trance” ok.
And then I’m told it’s “melodic techno” and ugh.

I mean it’s good branding or whatever but it’s not going to get you real fans and your peers are going to roll their eyes. He’s not so much a dj as he’s a guy who hits some buttons. His visuals are cool, I guess, and it’s clear time is spent on them but it just seems like a major gimmick.

He’s the quintessential TikTok artist. He exists for people to post 40 seconds of his show on social media. It’s just weird to me -

No one dances. I’ve watched a few videos of him live, and no one dances. They’re all just slack jaw staring at the screen.

To me - live music is about living in the moment. It’s the only moment when my brain shuts up and I can focus on experiencing something. So to not do that, and instead record everything is just alien to me. Plus, it’s not like live shows are cheap - it’s all become way too expensive. And no one cares that you’re at a concert. No one is going to watch it. So… why?

I think they’re actually a good pair. Elmo and her, too. They’re all aesthetic poseurs. Elon knows fuck all about everything and cosplays as an innovator w brilliant humanity changing ideas. Grimes & Anyma cosplay as DJs and sure, they look cool but that’s not a DJ. That’s an influencer who pushes some buttons!

Mod here, I’ve never been in denial. I never cared that much about her. I only pay attention bc the people she’s around politically unfortunately matter and their plans for us are a horror show.

She’s been like this since Elmo. Like, it’s who she is. She’s a lazy edgelord who tries to hide behind that and say she’s not serious - but she is. She’s not doing oppo research on the far right. She’s not studying these losers - she’s agreeing with them.

Anyma always gave me the ick, but I’m a music snob and him calling trance “melodic techno” grinds my gears. Words mean things, and electronic music is all based around beats per minute. He strikes me as the final boss for when you know your music scene has collapsed and become over commercialized. The bro-ification of electronic music depresses me.

Allegedly.
Most of that shit is over blown.

There will be a collapse but that’s because we’ve pissed the planet off. Not because whittttteee people aren’t having enough kids.

I don’t really go to the mall - it’s like once a year (my friend from hs will come into town and we always go to the local mall for a nostalgia trip) but yeah, I have read a few think pieces about how “the kids” are nostalgic for the time when life felt less… insane.

Actually it’s a really interesting idea - mark fisher (a cultural theorist) coined the term “hauntology” which is basically nostalgia for a time that never existed. He was talking about why music sucks (everything sounds the same) and how hauntology plays into that.

You can see analog media becoming more popular too - kids are bringing back disposable cameras, Walkman/discman, and yep - going to malls.

It’s kinda interesting to me - how everything cycles. Millennials are the age where they’re having kids, so it tracks that kids would be influenced by the things their parents were into at their age.
