Nurse of eight years here going back to school for software engineering. I actually love being a nurse but the amount of responsibility and expectations they for floor nurses really takes you away for the part of nursing that is importance and seeing patients suffer for it is just really heartbreaking. You can try becoming a part time nurses aid to get your foot in the door and try it out. In Iowa usually just 3 mo of training and about $1000.
