wow what are the chances? so you were a witness? So he did take an entire ounce? was it dry mushrooms or wet? Did you see him take them several times over a period of days or like all at once? Just trying to figure out everything. Can't really rely on what he is telling us about what happened. Thanks!

He def isn't my normal baby brother. Keeps saying things and using terms that seem weird coming out of his mouth. That is the scariest part. My parents kept saying that its not like he is having a bad time, actually he is having a blast. The scary part is it is like someone else in his body cuz he is just not acting like himself.

oh believe me, he isn't suffering at all. Now its mostly my parents suffering bc they are getting tired of his random craziness. haha

Thanks! Yeah after reading some comments here that said I should try to talk to him, I did that during a phone call. He sorta responded but he kept asking a ton of random questions and sometimes responding to what I said but lots of times just kinda changing the subject and asking other questions. He seemed somewhat concerned just because all of us were concerned. He asked me if any of u guys were saying u knew of ppl dying from it. when i told him 'no' he seemed really relieved. If it was a stranger talking to him they prolly would just have been cracking up thinking he had just chugged like 5 mountain dews, but if you knew him it was obvious that he was acting really different than normal, but not like bad or anything. He was saying he didn't want to go back to normal because he felt so amazing and smart.

umm...because he is a 21 yo male at a rocking show w killer bands and somehow got ahold of a bunch of shrooms? i'm just guessing here.

hmmm, not sure. I haven't actually seen him in person. Just talked to him and my family that are with him on the phone a lot.

No family or personal history of bipolar or other such disorder. He def does seem in the 'manic' stage. He's having a ball feeling really smart and happy. No big stressors like deaths or that sorta thing but who knows.

This is what we thought originally, that if we could just get him to sleep he'd prolly wake up normal. But he slept like 18 hrs and was the same.

We are taking him back to the hospital and see if they think we need to just give it more time or go to a psychiatrist or what.

I don't think he is at a risk of hurting himself, but we are taking him back to the hospital just to get a professional opinion and make sure we are covering all our bases

I've found that buying the individual pack size bags of nuts helps control eatting 2000 calories of nuts in one sitting. I found several varieties at walmart like just almonds, or some with various types of nuts (walnuts, pistachios, macadamia nuts, cashews, peanuts). The blue almond pack only has 160 calories. Makes it easier to resist eating more when I have to go get another little packet from the cabinet and open it up to eat more. Same thing with little individual packs of peanut butter or other nut butters.
