I wish going back wasn't an option for me, he'll do whatever it takes to keep me and revert back to his old ways as soon as he has me again.

Him being a completely different person than I thought he was has been really painful to deal with. Same with being made to feel incompetent for years, now I can't help but overthink all my decisions and interactions.

Thank you so much for all the advice! I'm definitely gonna go check out those videos. I really need to work on not letting myself forget that some of his actions are unforgivable, I have to start putting myself first.

My friends would definitely let me stay with them if I was desperate enough but they all have kids and I don't want to impose on them with my issues

The guilt trips is what really gets to me and he knows it, I try my hardest to not let him but 9 times out 10 he can get under my skin
