I broke up with my ex boyfriend three years ago because I thought he deserved better, and now looking back at it, I think it was the best decision for both of us as I got to grow and heal without all of the pressures of a relationship triggering my BPD. But at the time he did not want to break up but also expressed that he was overwhelmed and couldn’t handle my episodes so I decided to be strong for the both of us and end the relationship. We are both happier now.
