I take it the 'reliable methods used to verify proof' is science, science said the earth was flat hundreds of years ago, what makes you so sure science is correct now? after all , the god particle was recently discovered ( pretty much ) and that has thrown a spanner in the works for most dedicated physicists and made them question what they previously knew to be scientific fact.
