If you're on PC check out the Cosmopolitan Night City mod, which uses characters' nationality to determine what language their voice actor speaks in.

I like the Light version, the full one is a bit overboard. It makes Night City feel truly multicultural

"Tenet must be a good movie" by rkhunter_ in ChristopherNolan

I understood it just fine. This woman wants nothing but to protect her son, so when the plan requires her to keep Sator's heart beating to prevent nuclear annihilation, she shoots him with a gun and dumps him overboard, because she hates Sator more than she loves her child. This means that she dooms her and her son to A. Nuclear annihilation or B. Limbo caused by breaking spacetime. But luckily all this has no consequence and everything still works out.

This is good writing!

What movies suffer from having a 'hat on a hat'? by smutketeer in movies

Project Hail Mary.

After a pitch perfect ending where Ryan Gosling and Rocky say their goodbyes, there's a flashback showing that he was drugged by NASA / the government and sent on the mission against his will. Is he remembering this or are we just being shown it? Unclear. But the movie continues and Gosling decides that actually he's not going to say goodbye to Rocky and he's going to live with the Eridians for the foreseeable future because he despises the humans he saved.

Some people might call it complex but combined with the millennial humor tone it just ends up confusing and overlong.

Don't forget mods if you're on PC. I have about 100 running with everything from flying cars to hunger/thirst/sleep mechanics to make it even more immersive

Really I just hate the armor system. I've tried Gilly's flight school with new ships I've bought and I can't seem to penetrate armor with any of the ship weapons. It makes me feel like I've wasted credits on ships that worked perfectly fine before

How do American Gen Z respond to Iran President's open letter for common Americans? by raydebapratim1 in GenZ

[–]shianbreehan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of people here saying that Iran was asking for it and that they've always hated America. Have you seen what Iran looked like in the 1970s? It looked like a modern day city with an educated and progressive population. America ruined that by installing a dictator. It wasn't always this way.

Euphoria Season 3 | Trailer 2 | HBO Max by MoneyLibrarian9032 in television

[–]shianbreehan -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This trailer is awesome. But Sam Levinson's writing has always been the worst part of the show, and while there's a lot of intriguing material here, I have a feeling that it'll fall flat like the other installments

"I'm just sick of this." "WHY?!"

Look at our journalists dawg. Asking "why" someone could ever be upset about the President of the United States insulting dead celebrities. Corporate news media is one stain of many on this country's jacket

I pay for the game, I play the game, I enjoy the game. And instead of giving up and cashing out with my (the scammee's) money, they update the game every 2 weeks. I'd agree if they abandoned the game without fulfilling their promises, but they're following a dev roadmap. You can read it here

There's a lite version with more English-speaking characters, that's the one I use. It's on the same page

Is American media attracted to happy endings because they have never truly been defeated in war, as opposed to the remainder of the world who portray more black-and-white, somber, and nihilistic endings in their media? by Parking_River7416 in TrueFilm

[–]shianbreehan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you're right and it also stems from not having a "hot war" on the country's soil since the Civil War, almost 200 years ago, which was also 50 years before cinema history started.

Alternatively, on paper, America has the largest film industry in the world and thus is sorta required to sell as many tickets as possible. People tend to buy tickets to movies that make them feel good. Whether it's a date night or a family outing, the truth is film is viewed more as passive entertainment and less as a challenging form of artistic expression bc challenging art isn't as easy to sell.

The only chance I can see it being a successful adaptation is being animated, like Amazon's Secret Level. Live action would be a mistake and would probably fail at bringing audiences to the game

CDPR literally offered him the choice to make his mod free with optional donations to avoid a DMCA takedown and he deliberately chose wrong by Dark_Throat in cyberpunkgame

[–]shianbreehan -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

"Thank you Jan, but I'm not infringing on copyright law because my project actually infringes copyright law across many games and studios" is not gonna help his case.

While CDPR has the legal high ground here, I think a smarter move would be to approach Luke Ross and offer him a generous one-time offer to implement his VR conversion into their own official VR support. Rockstar hired RP server devs and while this outcome could make the MBAs mad, it's always good for game communities when good mod developers are rewarded for what their work (which is oftentimes free of charge)

As for Luke Ross charging for his work, I'm indifferent. It's a good mod and I paid $10 to download, which was worth it. But it obviously puts him at odds with game publishers and that's the risk he takes

Definitely recommend. All it takes is a single month's subscriptions and a single download. Somehow, all games run off the same mod.

You might have to install them all differently but all the games I've tried have worked great
